The Juan Manuel Marquez versus Manny Pacquiao conference was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday to announce their upcoming bout between them on March 15, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Manny Pacquiao [45-3-2, 34 KO’s] of the Philippines and three time division world champion will make it clear this time around in winning the rematch. “Hello everyone thanks for coming. I feel I won the first fight when I knock out Marquez three times in round number one. I started training for this fight and I will be ready for March 15 and show everyone I will be victorious like I was in the first fight but was rule a draw.” Pacquiao said.
Juan Manuel Marquez [48-3-1, 35 KO’s] of Mexico and currently the WBC super featherweight champion has been waiting for this rematch for almost 4 long years. “They have nick name Pacquiao the Mexican assassin for taking care of Marco Antonio Barrera and Erik Morales twice. I don’t think the nick name really suit Manny. I give him lot of respect for what he has done in the boxing world and he is a true warrior. I am also hungry for this fight and will defend my title belt by beating Manny,” Marquez said.
The fight is being promoted by Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions, in association with Romanza boxing production and MP promotions. The undercard will be reveal at a later date.
