Press Conference Quotes
Holly Holm: “They mentioned my draw and loss, but I’m glad I tasted defeat because I know that I won’t taste it again. I’m nervous as all heck, but that’s normal, and it means I’m focused. I can’t wait for Friday to be over with.”
Mary Jo Sanders: “The women on this card defy gender. There is no skill difference between us and the men. I’ve been training…can’t even describe it. I’ve been doing crazy things —jumping over fences and running hills, using a breathing apparatus to restrict breathing . . . sparring 30, 40 rounds with southpaw Damian Fuller. I’ve been training for this fight like I’ve never trained for anything else.”
Chevelle Hallback: “This is history in the making. I’m overwhelmed to be part of this.”
Jeannie Garside: “I’m quite honored to fight Chevelle. ‘Finally’ has a lot of meaning for me. The day has come for me, finally.”
Wendy Rodriguez: “We’ll steal the show. Thank you, Hollie, for giving me a second chance to fight you.”
Hollie Dunaway: “Wendy and I will steal the show. We know each other pretty well from when we fought over a year ago.”
(Note: Dunaway’s camp will throw and extra $1,000 into the pot if there is a winner by knockout—either fighter)
Eileen Olszewski: “It took three years for me to get my pro debut. During that time, I watched these fighters and wished I could be like them. It just seems so unreal to be here now. I’ve trained really hard, but I’m ready to get the belt.”
Carino Moreno: “This is going to be history in the making, this card. This is business and tomorrow, I’m going to take care of business.”
Television
“Finally” is being produced and distributed by Integrated Sports for live viewing in the United States and Canada (10 PM/ET) on both cable and satellite pay-per-view via iN DEMAND, TVN, Shaw Communications, DirecTV, Bell Expressvue and StarChoice for a suggested retail price of only $24.95.

DOES THE WBC REALLY CARE?
Posted on | June 11, 2008 | No Comments
By: Matt Yanofsky
Greetings,
As we all know, the WBC heavily publicizes their “world boxing cares” program. This is a great program because time and money are donated to those in need. They also have held clinics about the safety of the sport, which is very important. Unfortunately, the WBC may be doing this as a cover up.
If the WBC truly is concerned about the health and safety of the fighters, why did they let Oscar Larios, who is medically suspended following a brain injury fight for the WBC interim featherweight title? Larios’ stopped Feider Viloria a few weeks back in Mexico. We all know what Larios’ deal is but lets take a look at Viloria. Viloria was stopped in the fight prior to facing Larios and has only two wins against fighters with winning records. Viloria also has a ton of empty space on his records, look at who he had been fighting to get to 21-2 before facing Larios (http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=145631&cat=boxer)
The worst part about this is that Larios is now in line for a rematch with the same man who caused his brain injury, Jorge Linares. Why would the WBC do this, I thought the WBC cares about the fighters?
I’d love to hear some input from you on this situation becuase maybe there is something I am missing.

Note of correction:
Jeremy Parodi and Fabrizio Trotta clash for the vacant EU superbantam title June 27 in Toulon.
British heavy Matt Skelton is out of the fight against Sinan Samil Sam for the vacant EBU title July 4 in Istanbul. Replacing Skelton is Italian veteran Paolo Vidoz.
Over the years there´s been a number of fights billed as for the Scandinavian or Nordic titles. There´s never been any official title covering the region though. That is to be changed now as the Federations in Finland, Denmark and Sweden are on their way to create a official Nordic title. First fight might be Rikard Lundby vs Andreas Evensen June 21 – the winner will face Dane Ervis Masha.
Introducing Tyson Green: a talented and experienced fighter, currently based in Nottingham, UK. Green is on a short list for possible opponents to Russian Alexander Povetkin July 19. Green is also a possible opponent for Ray Mercer September 5 in Karlstad, Sweden. His real name? Sorry folks, not allowed to tell but as a hint I can say he fought in Karlstad before.
Jeremy Parodi and Fabrizio Trotta clash for the vacant EU superbantam title June 9 in Toulon.
Finnish middle Amin Asikainen headline a P 3 Boxing show in Turku August 30. Asikainen is mandatory challenger for EBU champ Sebastian Sylvester. Also on the bill are heavies Robert Helenius, promoted by Sauerland Event, and Jarno Rosberg.
Natascha Ragosina, holder of seven world belts at supermiddle, defends her titles July 11 in Cuxhaven on an outdoor promotion put on by SES. Ragosina face Kenyan Conjestina Achieng.

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (June 10, 2008) – Last week at a press conference in New York City, Affliction, the premier fashion label for men who love hard rock and fast living, announced its partnership with Donald J.
