Sigmon of Bedford, Virginia has a record of 15-2 with seven knockouts and has a great fan base in the Virginia area.

Sigmon is riding a seven bout winning streak and has defeated the likes of Abdul Gillard (2-0); Frankie Filipone (2-0); Toris Brewer (14-2); Julius Kennedy (7-1) and his last fight he scored a 4^th round stoppage over John Michael Terry.

Taylor is a veteran who has been in with the “whose-who” of the Light Heavyweight divisions.

The native of Las Vegas has a record of 26-19-1 with nineteen knockouts and has been in the ring with Jerry Ballard (18-1); Saul Montana (31-6); Former world champion Fabrice Tiozzo (42-2); Elvir Muriqi (25-1); Former world champion Adrian Diocanu (12-0); Daniel Judah (18-0-2); Former world champion Lou Del Valle (31-3-1); Max Alexander (8-0-1); Omar Sheika (26-8); Joe Spina (24-1); Yathomas Riley (6-0); Alfonso Lopez (17-0) and his last bout with Dyah Davis (17-1);

In a six round co-feature, undefeated middleweight and exciting knockout artist Jonathan Cepeda of West Palm Beach, FL taking on Brad Austin.

Cepeda has built a reputation for his knockout prowess in Florida and will be looking for his eighth consecutive stoppage.  He is coming off a 2^nd round stoppage over Rafael Gonzalez on April 1^st.

Austin of Johnson City, Tennessee has a record of 8-10 with five knockouts and because of his ring experience should be a test for Cepeda.

Austin has been in the ring with prospects Peter Quillin (6-0); James McGirt (14-0); Edwin Rodriguez (8-0); Farah Ennis (9-0); Isaac Rodriguez (14-0); Daniel Kooij (7-0); and in his last bout Lamar Russ (5-0).

The son of former WBC Heavyweight champion, Oliver McCall, Elijah McCall (4-1-1, 4 KO’s) will take on Matt Green (14-20, 10 KO’s) in a four round Heavyweight bout.

Undefeated Middleweight Ronnie Glass (5-0-1, 3 KO’s) will take on sixty-nine fight veteran Kevin Carter in bout scheduled for four rounds.

In a Jr. Lightweight bout scheduled for six rounds, Jesse Carradine (6-1-1, 4 KO’s) battles John Willoughy (3-7, 2 KO’s)

Two pro debaters will get it on as Kwan Morgan and David Cook will see their first paid action in a four round Cruiserweight bout.

In a four round Light Heavyweight bout, Quinton Rankin (1-0, 1 KO) will tangle with Travis White in an all North Carolina battle.

In a ladies six round affair, Lisa Garland (5-4, 2 KO’s) will take on Ohio’s Natoya Ervin (2-7) in a Welterweight bout.

Brazilian Revolution in Boxing working for WBC #20 rated Michael “The Brazilian Rocky” Oliveira

MIAMI (April 12, 2011) – The movement spearheaded by MO Productions to establish undefeated Michael “The Brazilian Rocky” Oliveira as a star in his native Brazil is moving forward as TV Globo, the third-largest network in the world, committed to a two-year, six-fight commitment featuring the 20-year-old Oliveira.

 

After his 10-round unanimous decision victory March 25 in Sao Paulo against previously unbeaten Argentinean prospect Abel “El Principito” Nicolas Adriel (10-1-2, 3 KOs), in which Oliveira captured the Interim World Boxing Council Latino Super Middleweight Championship, Michael returned home to Miami. His father and president of MO Productions, Carlos Oliveira, remained in Sao Paulo for meetings with TV Globo and potential sponsors.

 

The Oliveira-Adriel headlined “International Boxing Challenge,” presented by MO Productions, aired live Mar. 25 on SporTV, TV Globo International and GloboEsporte.com.

 

Oliveira, the promoter, has revealed a number of interesting updates regarding his son, starting with the announcement of Michael’s third fight in Brazil, the second in the deal with TV Globo. It’s tentatively scheduled for June 4 against Eduardo “El Cheito” Flores (10-2, 7 KOs), slated as the 10-round main event for a professional show, at Mauro Pinheiro Gymnasium in Sao Paulo for the second time in a row.

 

Oliveira also said Michael, who has been installed at No. 20 in the latest WBC super middleweight ratings, would next fight as a middleweight and that Team Oliveria has retained the services of head trainer Clemente Medina, who handles world-class fighters such as such as WBC #1 junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo and WBC Diamond bantamweight champion Abner Mares, who fights Joseph Agbeko on April 23 for the IBF title.

 

The major news, however, is Globo TV’s plans for a 5,000-seat portable arena to be constructed in the capital city of Brasilia for another Oliveira fight in September.

 

“Michael’s popularity with the media and public in Brazil continues to grow with each fight,” Carlos explained. “Globo TV wants Michael to fight June 4 in Sao Paulo and then again in September in Brasilia. The designs for the portable arena for Brasilia are unbelievable. They’re investing in Michael’s image in Brazil and have also discussed the possibility of Michael being a boxing commentator for Globo TV’s coverage of the Olympics next year in London.”

 

Oliveira (14-0, 11 KOs) was born in Sao Paulo but he moved two weeks after birth with his family to Miami. In his Brazilian debut last November in Sao Paulo, Michael stopped tough Junior Ramos (10-5) in the third round.

 

Oliveira, who won the UNBC middleweight title September 11, 2009, is the two-time winner of the Brazilian International Press Award’s Athlete of the Year (2009 and 2010).

 

Backed by his family promotional company, as well as TV Globo, Michael returns to his roots in hopes of reestablishing boxing back to the days of Brazilian boxing icons, Hall of Famer Eder “Golden Bantam” Jofre, and more recent superstar Acelino “Popo” Freitas. Both legendary Brazilian boxers have supported Michael by attending his fights in Brazil.

The main event between 30-year-old Alistair Overeem (fighting out of Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and the 33-year-oldFabricio Werdum (fighting out of Porto Alegre, Brazil) pits the two superstars against one another nearly five years after Werdum submitted Overeem on a PRIDE^® Fighting Championship card at Osaka Dome in Osaka, Japan on May 5, 2006.

Since their initial encounter, the 6-foot-5, 260 pound Overeem has become the first fighter in history to simultaneously hold both a major mixed martial arts (STRIKEFORCE) title and a K-1 Heavyweight Grand Prix championship. A former Division I All-American at Oklahoma State University Daniel Cormier (fighting out of San Jose, Calif.) is unbeaten in seven fights. Training alongside the likes of UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and welterweight stars Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck, Cormier’s blend of wrestling and power could pose problems for his opponent in Texas. With an unblemished record in 11 professional bouts, Shane Del Rosario (fighting out of Irvine, Calif.) remains unfazed by the hype surrounding his opponent. Coming off an impressive submission win over Lavar Johnson in February, the 27-year-old Del Rosario has finished every fight and expects nothing less when he meets Cormier on June 18.

A seasoned veteran riding a three-fight winning streak, Valentijn Overeem (fighting out of Amsterdam, The Netherlands)believes a win on June 18 could propel him into contention in the STRIKEFORCE heavyweight division. Thus, expect fireworks when he meets free-swinging Chad Griggs (fighting out of Tucson, Ariz.), who has won five straight, including a stoppage of Bobby Lashley.

If there was a category for the ‘it’ fighter ion the next Ring of Fire Card, Thatch would be the clear winner. He’s a media darling, a popular fighter with a winning smile and a great attitude that makes him a target for sponsors, fans and anyone with even a passing interest in the sport.   At the MMA awards in January Thatch, who was up for professional fighter of the year (he didn’t win, a miscarriage of justice if the dozens of emails of protest that were sent are to be believed) smiled at everyone who came up to him. He shook hands, took pictures, signed things, and endured the numerous business people and idea-men who came up to ask for some of his time to ‘tell you about this great idea I have’.   “I love my fans, I want to do everything I can for them,” Thatch said later. Everyone wants a piece of Brandon Thatch, and that was before he even knew he would be fighting what is the definition of a grudge match, at Ring of Fire Backlash, against Chris Holland.   Anyone who has spent time with Thatch outside of the ring would be reminded of Bruce Wayne, you know, the alter-ego of Batman. He has a playboy way about him that everyone seems to respond to, and wants to be associated with.   The analogy is apt, because the mild mannered ‘man about town’ transforms into a fearful creature at night in the ring. The smile is gone; the boyish charm is replaced by pure animal desire and what can only be categorized as blood lust. Just a quick search of YouTube videos finds him throwing knees, punching opponents like a machine, and bringing blistering attacks that seem to have only one setting; Thatch.   The scary part? Those beatings that he has given out have never been against opponents he was as motivated to defeat as Chris Holland. Holland has a number of wins under his belt, but only two that mean anything to Brandon Thatch. Holland defeated Thatch’s friends Chris Williamson and Vinnie Lopez, setting up a battle that is more personal that anyone really wants to admit.
