DYNAMITE!! FIGHT FESTIVAL SET TO EXPLODE NEW YEAR’S EVE MORNING ON HDNET!

DALLAS (December 28, 20010) The world’s largest annual fighting festival, Dynamite!!, will be broadcast on HDNet early morning this New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2010 at 4AM ET. “HDNet Fights: Dynamite!!” includes more than 15 fights including Mixed Martial Arts, K-1 and Special Rules matches.

Established in 2002 as a joint promotion between K-1 and PRIDE, the annual “Dynamite!!” New Year’s Eve show has attracted a cumulative live audience of over 400,000 spectators. The 2009 event, the first broadcast on HDNet, attracted 45,606 to the Saitama Super Arena, which is set to host this year’s blockbuster edition.

“Dynamite!! is a fighting festival that’s all about having fun and celebrating the New Year as a fight fan,” said HDNet commentator Michael Schiavello, who has been the voice of Dynamite!! since 2006. “From the wacky entrances to the crazy entertainment and the amazing fights under various rule sets, Dynamite!! is like Cirque du Soleil mixed with a rock concert under the guise of an electrifying fight night like no other.”

From world title fights to the off-the-wall match-ups that only Dynamite!! could host, this annual event has delivered unforgettable past matches such as Cro Cop vs Sakuraba; Akebono vs Royce Gracie; Masato vs Kid Yamamoto; Don Frye vs Jerome LeBanner; and Bob Sapp vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

The 2010 edition continues tradition with more than fifteen fights including a”special rules” match between MMA superstar Shinya Aoki and cross-dressing K-1 striker Jienotsu Nagashima – in which they will fight alternating rounds under MMA rules and K-1 rules.

Also on the card, recently crowned K-1 Grand Prix champion Alistair Overeem is rumored to face former UFC star Todd Duffee; MMA star Gegard Mousasi takes on K-1 Heavyweight champion Kyotaro in a K-1 kickboxing match; living legend Kazushi Sakuraba challenges defending champion Marius Zaromskis for the DREAM Welterweight title; fan favorite Minowaman takes on Judo Olympicmedalist Hiroshi Izumi; and DREAM star Tatsuya “Crusher” Kawajiri fights Strikeforce star Josh “The Punk” Thompson.

Perfect timing for Glover

After putting fighting on hold to become lawyer, ‘T$’ sets sights on MFC ranks

Tyrone Glover has put some legal smackdown on his opposing counsel since becoming a lawyer.

Now it’s time for “T$” (T-Money) to remind opponents he can dish out plenty of hurt in mixed martial arts action. Fresh from a long layoff to complete his studies and start his own legal practice, Glover is making a triumphant return to the sport by signing a new four-fight contract with the Maximum Fighting Championship.

“From a performance standpoint, this is the perfect time for me,” said Glover (5-0), who may make his organizational debut as early as MFC 28: Supremacy in February 2011. “I wanted to get involved with a good promotion and I’ve done that by coming to the MFC.

“And I have the resources now for my training and my support system. Having those two things means I can come into the MFC and establish myself in the lightweight division and be a force to be reckoned with.”
Although Glover took a leave from the sport in 2005 to pursue his law degree, he left as a top-rated prospect having already mustered up a solid winning streak including a surprising victory over veteran Din Thomas in just the fourth fight of his career. But that was his last fight until late in 2010.

Still, even with the long delay to the resumption of his fighting career, Glover isn’t the least bit concerned about ring rust. So much so that he is eager to get his MFC stint launched as quick as possible.

“Whatever direction the MFC wants me to go … just point and I’ll go,” said Glover. “I’d be very excited to be part of the first card of 2011. Let’s get started and get things rolling. Whatever I’m needed for, I’m the guy.

“I just think there’s any worry about ring rust. At this point I’m the most critical person of what I’m doing and how I’m training. I’m excited to have the results I’ve got so and I know I’m just getting better. I’m already past the point where I was when I retired and I’m building my arsenal. My goal is to get better and improve every time I fight.”
The Sacramento, California, native now practices law in Denver, specializing in business law. Once the day’s legal briefs are put down, the 31-year-old heads to the Grudge Training Center, and the discussion turns from corporate takeovers to double-leg takedowns.

“I think my talents lie in my well-rounded game plan,” added Glover, who holds three victories by submission and one via TKO.

“I think I’ve got the tools to put a guy down and I’ve got the tools to stand with him. It may not be my pedigree like wrestling is, but I’m confident I can use my stand up. My real strength is being able to put together a cohesive MMA game plan that I can use to beat anybody.”
If Glover can put another run together like the one he manufactured before his scholastic-inspired retirement, he could very well put himself in the running of what has become an MFC lightweight division infused with a sudden surge in talent depth.

“I’m the guy that wants to get a championship opportunity when the fans want to see me fight for it,” he noted. “I want people to want me to fight for the title. I don’t want to be the kind of fighter who fans wonder why I’m getting a title shot – I don’t want people asking why it happened. I want people to want to see me fight. I’m very big on fan support.

“I’m not the kind of fighter who wants to go out and just rack up wins, get a bunch of boring wins, and keep a spotless record. I want to be in exciting fights every time. I want the fans to want to see me fight for the title and I want fans to want to see me fight as the champion.”
And when the time comes for Glover to hype an upcoming fight, the shackles of a lawyer’s suit-and-tie approach will be tossed aside quickly.
“Fans love it when the fighters embrace the reality of things. If that means trash talking, getting in my opponent’s ear a little bit, that’s no problem,” said Glover.

“If I’m fighting some guy who’s the local bad boy, I’m going to play that up. I’m not going to pretend I’m going to be coming in to a welcoming crowd. I’m not going to sit back and be reserved. If I get a sense that I need to take things over the top, I’m not going to hold back.”

Griffin, who won Oscar De La Hoya’s reality show “The Next Great Champ” owns a solid 23-6-2 pro ledger with 9 wins by way of knockout. The Sacramento, CA native has shared the squared circle with the likes of Danny Green, Jeff Lacy, Marcus Oliveira, Enad Licina and Jesse Brinkley. Last May, Griffin won the USBA belt with a shocking eighth round knockout of two time WBA Super Middleweight champion Byron Mitchell.

Mack, 28-3-2 (17 KO’s), is universally recognized as a player in the light heavyweight division that has fought some of the world’s best. Born and bred in the fighting city of Philadelphia, PA, Mack holds impressive victories title challengers Chris Henry and DeAndrey Abron while falling just short against Glen Johnson, Alejandro Berrio and Librado Andrade.

“This is going to be an outstanding fight and the fans are in for a real treat,” said Promoter Tony Grygelko of Seconds Out Promotions. “Both men have been in the ring with top fighters and the winner will be one victory away from becoming an elite light heavyweight.”

Griffin-Mack is scheduled for 12 rounds.

Unbeaten junior lightweight Ismail “Sharp Shooter” Mudendo will look to move to 8-0 with 7 knockouts when he faces an opponent to be named in the six round co-feature. The Minneapolis based Ugandan is regarded as one of the Midwest’s best prospects and at age 22 has plenty of time to develop.

Also appearing on the undercard will be former amateur star Javonte Starks (4-0, 4 KO’s), Charles Meier (4-1-1, 2 KO’s), the pro debuts of Mellissa Littlejohn and Tristan McNutt in separate bouts and two mixed martial arts featuring local favorites.

Silgado of Buenos Aires, Argentina has compiled a record of 18-0 with sixteen knockouts and the twenty-five year old has captured regional belts throughout South America.

Silgado turned pro with twelve straight knockouts before winning the WBA Fedecaribe and Colombian Cruiserweight titles with a third round stoppage over Jose Chiquillo.

He defended the WBA belt once before capturing the WBA Fedebol title with a unanimous decision victory over Sergio Martin Beaz.

In his last bout, Silgado stopped Cesar Dairo Herdia in one round on January 24, 2009.

A Blue Star For The Troops And Mom’s Mission

(Nashville, TN) – Standing up and supporting our troops through songs while trying to bolster the morale of our troops is an exhausting mission, a mission Songwriter and Army Mom Angela Lashley is proud to do.

Lashley’s life was forever changed when she received a phone call from her son Jonathan “Mom, I’m joining the Army” he said. Those few words would change Lashley’s purpose for moving to Nashville and lead to a song called “So Brave” that would tell her son how brave he is while supporting military families everywhere.

After the life changing phone call, Lashley and her husband sat in silence until Lashley said aloud “when did he get so brave?” That sentence put her on a journey to honor her son’s bravery, and comfort others in the same situation she found herself in.

Lashley came to Nashville to pursue her song writing career after her children were all grown and off to college. She had always been told she was talented and decided to pursue this career she loved. However, once she reached Nashville and found out her son was enlisting in the Army, that musical path would change for Lashley. It drove her to write songs that engulf her emotions and the experiences she’s encountered as an Army Mom, and express them in a way only she can.

After the song “So Brave” was released, more songs followed that were inspired by the loved ones of soldiers from all over the world who contacted Angela about So Brave. These songs not only touched the families with relatives in the Armed Forces, but the troops as well. It soon expanded farther than that, by touching people’s lives that don’t have anyone enlisted but could feel what these families feel.

These songs deemed Lashley the “Musical Military Mom of this War”, a title she is very proud to hold!

The song “So Brave” is politically vague. Instead it expresses the love and support for the troops and their families who sacrifice their loved ones through absence and death, to protect a country we’re proud to call home. It emphasizes the courage of servicemen and women facing danger day in and out, 24 hours a day. Most importantly it’s an open expression of a mother’s perception of how brave her child is, and how proud she is of him. That’s what her songs are all about.

Lashley’s goal is to help build the morale of the troops, which is very low, through her gift of music; and let these troops know they are loved and appreciated by everyone here back home.

Lashley has a holiday project to help build the morale of our troops. That is to have a blue star shining in the window of households nationwide. The meaning of the Blue Star is extolled and honored in Lashley’s song “Blue Star in the Window.” Her vision is for those who would hear the song in the media to understand the meaning of the near forgotten symbol of the American military mother. She believes nothing could be more effective to raise the morale of troops everywhere, home for the holidays or not, than for there to be a BLUE STAR shining in a window in every neighborhood in this country on Christmas Eve.
