A training clinic for personal trainers and boxing trainers has been added to the Fantasy Boxing Camp.

On Saturday afternoon, August 21,2010, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, our Hall of Fame trainers and staff will work with boxing trainers from around the World. We will answer all questions about training and give instruction in how to train your clients.

The training will be followed by dinner, and a Cocktail party. You can drive home or book a room for an overnight stay.

The cost of this training clinic is $125.00 per person

The cost of a room for over night is $200.00 per person based on two per room.

ENNIS DEFEATS ROSADO IN A FIGHT THAT LIVES UP TO THE BILLING- ALL PHILLY WAR NOW ON DEMAND ON GFL

In a fight that more than lived up to the billing, Derek “Pooh” Ennis retained the USBA Jr. Middleweight championship over “King” Gabriel Rosado via majority decision in the All Philly War at the Arena in Philadelphia.

The two waged a back and forth battle with Ennis landing various right hands that seemed to keep Rosado at the distance that Ennis wanted the fight. Rosado tried to and at times made the fight a toe to toe slugfest which thrilled the sold out crowd in the Arena.

Each man had a rabid cheering section as deafening chants of “GABBY GABBY GABBY” and “POOH POOH POOH” was belted out through the fight.

With the outcome in the balance the last two rounds were classic Philadelphia frames as the two left nothing in the ring as they battled it out to the very end.

Ennis will rise in the rankings of the IBF and now should be very close to fighting for the Jr. Middleweight championship of the world.

Ennis is now 22-2-1. Rosado is 14-5.

KZ Event Fighters Ahmedov & Hudaynazarov Explode in U.S.

LAS VEGAS (August 2, 2010) – KZ Event Productions, the company headed by Beibut Shumenov and his brother, Chingis, had a very successful night on July 23, 2010. Two of its undefeated fighters, light heavyweight Gayrat Ahmedov (15-0-1, 10 KOs) and welterweight Ravshan Hudaynazarov (13-0, 11 KOs), both former amateurs standouts from Uzbekistan, now fighting out of Las Vegas, registered impressive, knockout victories in Lemoore, California.

Ahmedov and Hudaynzarov fought on the undercard of an ESPN “Friday Night Fights” show, presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions in association with KZ Event Productions, that was headlined by WBA and IBA Light Heavyweight World Champion Beibut Shumenov (10-1, 6 KOs), at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino.

The Goossen Tutor-promoted Shumenov, who successfully defended his title belts by way of an aggressive, offensive-controlled 12-round unanimous decision (118-108 twice, 117-109) against the very dangerous mandatory challenger Vyachesklav Uzelkov (22-1, 14 KOs), instantly put his name alongside the other champions in the light heavyweight division with the victory.

“My brother and I are very proud of Gayrat and Ravshan,” Chingis remarked. “They have been improving with each fight, especially after moving to Las Vegas and training here. They both made statements with their impressive action-packed performances making new boxing fans along the way.”

WBA #9 world rated Ahmedov stopped his toughest opponent to date, Dallas Vargas

(22-5, 16 KOs), in the opening round after landing a perfectly placed left-hook to the body. Gayrat, the WBA Asian Boxing Council and interim PABA titlist, exchanged blows with Vargas until unloading a left hook to the liver. Vargas went down to both knees and, unable to make it to his feet, he was counted out by the referee.

“At the count of seven,” Gayrat explained, “I already knew what combination I planned to hit him with if he had stood up. He didn’t make it, though. Sparring with Beibut really helped me for my fight.”

One of the hottest prospects in boxing, Hudaynazarov followed his game plan to perfection, cracking Pavel Miranda’s body until he was unable to continue after five rounds. Fighting under the sun and 100-plus degree heat, Ravshan, a notoriously brutal body puncher, destroyed his experienced opponent who came into the fight with a 16-5-1 (8 KOs) record.

“I knew he was a tough Mexican fighter who could take a lot of punches,” Ravshan said. “I set him up in the first two rounds with a good body attack and took whatever he had. But he kept taking punches. I wasn’t surprised he quit on the stool after the shots I was landing.

“I really feel much better fighting as a welterweight. I’ve spoken with Beibut about getting me a regional title fight next.”

Head trainer Kevin Barry added, “Beibut has led the way to a world championship. I believe that, someday, Gayrat and Ravshan will also be world champions. They work very hard in the gym and do what they’ve been taught.”

Rising Star Erick ‘The Eagle’ Ochieng Added To Huge Sept 11th London Show

Stoke Newington’s Erick ‘The Eagle’ Ochieng is intending to celebrate the first anniversary of his fledgling professional career with yet another win. Ochieng, who had his professional debut, against Matt Scriven, on September 11th last year, is set to face Birmingham banger Dee Mitchell on the mega Goodwin Promotion’s ‘It’s Personal’ title double-header at the York Hall, Bethnal Green on Saturday the 11th September 2010.

Ochieng, who has a perfect 4-0 record, will be joining fellow Ultrachem TKO Gym mates, Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander, ‘Phat’ Pat McAleese, Marianne ‘Golden Girl’ Marston, George Jupp, Behnam Dehghani and Joel McIntyre, who are also fighting on the Steve Goodwin promoted ‘It’s Personal’ event.

In his last fight, at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre in Dagenham back in May, Ochieng faced fellow unbeaten prospect Curtis Valentine. At the end of four grueling rounds super slick Ochieng was deservedly declared the victor by a 39-37 point margin.

The bout, billed as “The Battle Of The The Undefeated”, broke the normal protocol, where highly talented young fighters are heavily protected by their promoters and management, learning their trade against journeymen and other less talented fighters before facing someone of equal stature.

Ochieng’s manager-trainer,Brian Lawrence, clearly has a lot of faith in his young charge by choosing to buck the trend and put this exceptional talent to such a stern test so early in his promising career. His decision to do so may have been swayed in this direction by Ochieng himself, who had made a point, on more than one occasion, that he wanted to “step up and face more challenging opponents”.

Earlier in the year Ochieng packed his bags and traveled to Belgium to assist former IBC and European Welterweight Champion ‘Sugar Jackson’ Osei Bonsu prepare for his IBF welterweight eliminator against Randall Bailey. On his return to the UK Ochieng eagerly stated “It was a great learning experience. I can’t wait to put what I have learnt, being at Sugar Jackson’s camp, into practice.”

Then, just a few weeks before he faced Valentine, Ochieng told Boxing News’ Andrew Wake, “I don’t really want to be put in with journeymen. The better people I fight now will show my potential. If you are protected you don’t get better, if you are challenged in your early fights it makes you a better fighter in the long run.”

Taking a break following a sparring session, with Behnam Dehghani at the Ultrachem TKO Gym, Canning Town, ‘The Eagle’ said, “This fights just come up. I’ve just come back from holiday, It’s my first day back in the gym and I’m already sparring. I’ve had some real good sparring this year.

I’m really looking forward to the 11th September. It’s a good date for me. Last year I had my debut, this year I start the season off on September 11th.

It’s going to be another good performance from me. I’m already up for the fight. The world hasn’t seen my best yet . The best is still to come. I’m staying focused and I’m gonna win it.”

From a lesser talent, than Ochieng, these could easily be put down to bravado or publicist’s hype. You only have to watch him in action to know that he has what it takes to reach the highest echelons of his chosen sport.

Erick ‘The Eagle’ Ochieng versus Dee Mitchell will be on the undercard of the British Masters Lightweight title fight between Ryan Barrett and Mark ‘The Flash’ Alexander at the Goodwin Promotions ‘It’s Personal’ event at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London on Saturday the 11th September 2010.

Co-headline will feature undefeated Light Middleweight rising star ‘Phat’ Pat McAleese in a championship fight against a yet to be named opponent.

‘It’s Personal’ also features the British professional debut of legendary Heavyweight Champion of the World Smokin’ Joe Frazier’s protégé Marianne ‘Golden Girl’ Marston, who will be facing the highly experienced Welsh battler Lana Cooper in a four round Featherweight contest.

Cestus Management’s 140-to-147 pound world contender Ashley Theophane scored an impressive decision victory over IBF number 3 ranked welterweight Delvin Rodriguez. Theophane displayed superb boxing skills as he constantly kept Rodriguez off balance by stepping around the Dominican’s offense and landing sharp combination’s to clearly win a close action packed fight. Rodriguez, who is a former 3 time world title challenger, worked hard but in the end, Theophane just proved to be the better fighter. The fight was the main event and took place at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma and was televised live on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

The “Tresure” had this to say right after the fight; I’ll fight any top fighter in the world, I’m ready for any of them. I finally found myself and anyone who wants to step up and fight lets do it tomorrow. I “hit Delvin (Rodriguez) with some real hard shots and he still kept coming and never quit. ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 2, 2010)—On Saturday night, August 28th, Spartan Fight Promotions will present Battle I at the beautiful Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City with a terrific main event that will pit Heavyweight contender Chazz “The Gentleman” Witherspoon battling rough veteran Livin Castillo in a tough heavyweight bout scheduled for ten rounds.

Witherpsoon has a record of 26-2 with eighteen knockouts and is regarded as one of the top American Heavyweights.

When asked about fighting Castillo, Witherspoon responded “I am excited about getting back in the ring. It’s going to be an entertaining action packed affair because I know he comes to fight and I know I am coming to fight and I look forward to fighting back in Atlantic City.”

Witherspoon, twenty-eight years old of Philadelphia, PA, won his first twenty-three bouts with fifteen knockouts as he defeated the likes of Michael Alexander (11-0); Talmadge Giffis (24-6-3); Jonathan Haggler (18-1); which set up a big showdown with fellow undefeated and rising star Chris Arreola (23-0)

On June 21, 2008 Arreola scored a third round disqualification win in a fight that Witherspoon boxed well but decided “To bring out the Philly in him” and slug with the heavy handed Arreola.

Witherspoon went on to win three consecutive starts which included an eighth round stoppage over Adam “Swamp Donkey” Richards (21-1) on the undercard of the Jermain Taylor – Jeff Lacy battle in Memphis, Tennessee.

In his last bout, Witherspoon engaged in a slugfest with former world title challenger Tony Thompson on the Paul Williams – Sergio Martinez undercard on December 5th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

It was an entertaining bout as both got in good shots until Witherspoon was stopped in round nine of the scheduled ten round affair.

Witherspoon is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sales and he is very involved in the community as he is a mentor in many youth groups in the tri-state area.

Castillo of Borbon, Ecudor is known as a crafty veteran who will take on all comers.

Castillo has a record of 16-8 with ten knockouts.

Castillo won his first seven bouts with five coming by knockout. In just his eighth bout, Castillo was stopped by future undisputed Cruiserweight champion, Jean Marc-Mormeck who had twenty-two pro bouts.

After five wins, once again Castillo fought a world champion with world’s more experience than he had. This time it was 135 fight Jorge Castro (122-10-3) who stopped Castillo.

Castillo scored a six round unanimous decision over veteran Robert Hawkins (18-2) before being stopped in three by future WBC Heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev.

Castillo scored a victory over Osborne Machimana (10-2) then lost to currant IBF #1 ranked contender Alexander Povetkin in Hanover, Germany.

After a victory, the murder’s row of opponents continued as Castillo lost three in a row to former WBA Heavyweight champion, Bruce Seldon (37-6); former World title challenger Eddie Chambers (31-1) and rising prospect Travis Kauffman (16-0).

In his last bout, the thirty-four year old southpaw scored an eight round unanimous decision over Jamie Quinonez in Quito, Ecuador on October 16th, 2009.

An exciting undercard is being put together that will feature Lightweight contender Jose Reyes (23-7, 8 KO’s) of Vineland, NJ; Super Middleweight Joel De La Paz (5-0, 4 KO’s) of Atlantic City; Light Heavyweight Lavarn “Baby Bowe” Harvell (5-0, 2 KO’s) of Atlantic City ; Bantamweight Qa’id “Kid Dynamite” Muhammad (5-0, 5 KO’s); Super Middleweight Eugene Soto (2-0, 1 KO) of Atlantic City .
