The series offers fight fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the lives of the world’s Number One ranked MMA heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko and his opponent, undefeated, American Brett Rogers, who will square off in Saturday night’s primetime main event.

“The World’s Greatest Ever Boxer” 3-day boxing spectacular Dec. 11-13 at the Paris Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 6, 2009) – A unique United States versus The World pro boxing show that features team scoring competition, showcasing sons of four former world champions, will be held Dec. 12 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino as part of a spectacular “World’s Greatest Ever Boxer” promotion that weekend at the same venue.

IBF No. 6 rated junior middleweight Sechew “Iron Horse” Powell (25-2, 15 KOs), fighting out Brooklyn, takes on Brazilian knockout artist Antonio “Mesquitinha Nejo” Mesquita (35-1, 27 KOs) in the 10-round main event.

The “World’s Greatest Ever Boxing Show,” presented by The World Greatest Ever in association with Seminole Warriors Boxing, is part of a three-day boxing spectacular, Dec. 11-13 at The Paris, climaxing with “The World’s Greatest Ever Boxer” awards dinner the night following the boxing show.

Former world champions and nominees in “The World’s Greatest Boxer” promotion, Aaron “The Hawk” Pryor and Jeff “Marrickville Mauler” Fenech, are Team Captains for the US and World, respectively.

Junior middleweight Ronald “The Chosen One” Hearns (22-1, 17 KOs), son of the great 8-time world champion Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns, faces Mexican veteran Victor Hugo “Magnifico” Correa (11-4, 6 KOs) in an 8-round bout.

Pryor’s son, super middleweight Aaron Pryor, Jr. (12-2, 9 KOs), meets Canadian import Jason “Friday The 13th” Douglas (7-1, 3 KOs), while 5-time African amateur champion, undefeated Ugandan lightweight Sharif “The Lion” Bogere (12-0, 7 KOs), squares-off against former Texas State titlist Adam Hernandez (14-7-2, 5 KOs), in a pair of 8-round matches.

Highly-regarded junior middleweight prospect — St. Thomas’ unbeaten John Jackson (4-0, 4 KOs), son of former world champion Julian Jackson – puts his perfect record on the line against dangerous Jesus Vallejo (3-1, 3 KOs) in one of four 6-rounders on the card. Also fighting on the undercard is Elijah McCall (4-0-1, 4 KOs), son of former world heavyweight champ Oliver McCall, will be tested by Puerto Rican heavyweight Ruben Rivera (2-2, 1 KO).

In a risky and extremely rare match-up of top prospects, 2004 Cuban Olympian Luis Franco (2-0, 2 KOs) throws-down with Efrain Esquivivias (6-0, 4 KOs), 2006 National Golden Gloves Tournament gold medalist, in a battle of unbeaten featherweights. Two-time US National super heavyweight champion Mike Hunter, Jr., the popular son of the late NABF heavyweight champion Mike “The Bounty” Hunter, makes his much-anticipated pro debut versus Mexican heavyweight Alvaro Morales (3-6-5).

LAS VEGAS (November 6, 2009)-The late great boxing trainer Eddie Futch, who counted six world heavyweight champions as his pupils, always said a fighter’s corner played an essential role in a competitive fight’s outcome. With stakes high for the Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto fight on Saturday, November 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena live on HBO Pay-Per-View®, today’s most decorated trainers give their insight into the match-up and whether or not the experienced corner of Manny Pacquiao, with esteemed trainer Freddie Roach, will out-perform the lesser known Cotto corner lead by Joe Santiago. Hear from the experts themselves as they breakdown and predict the outcome of this tremendous fight.

ANALYSIS

“It’s gonna be a great, great fight. I have seen Cotto train twice now, and he’s a stone cold professional fighter. He was oblivious to the outside world when I saw him training. He’s very focused.

“You have a perfect blending of style in this fight. If I ever had a fighter fighting Pacquiao, I would implement the things that Cotto brings to the table. Certain ingredients that spell Cotto, will give Pacquiao trouble.

“Cotto is a pressure fighter and he’s going to be on Pacquiao from the get go. He’s got a great left hook, he’s a good body puncher and he’s very aggressive. I see a very tough distance fight. There is going to be blood.

Pacquiao takes it to you all the time but in this fight is going to have to back up. He’s a smart, slick, and great hand speed. Cotto counters those things.”

ON THE CORNERS

“Cotto is his own man. He’s a complete and solid pro. Him and his trainer, they look like they get along just fine. Cotto looks like a man possessed. If something goes wrong, yes, the corner has to step in. But as a trainer, you’re only as good as the fighter.

“When the bell rings, Freddie will be in one corner, the two guys will be in the ring. He won’t be able to fight for Manny. If an emergency happens, he’ll be there. The better one will be Freddie in case of an emergency. You’re talking about a guy who has a wealth of experience. You can’t make a comparison.

Prediction

“But if you’re looking for an edge, I don’t think the corners will play into the fight. The best guy will win.”

ANALYSIS

“I think Pacquiao and Freddie have such a strong and trusting relationship that they will be fine with whatever might happen in the ring. I think Pacquiao really trusts Freddie’s judgment and if it gets rough in there and Pacquiao sees it one way and Freddie gives him a different take on the situation, Manny is going to do what Freddie tells him. That is an incredible trust between a boxer and his trainer and one that will be to their advantage that night.

“On the other hand and for Cotto’s corner the question becomes how well their response rate is going to be if and when Cotto gets in trouble. In a big fight like this a fighter needs to hear a clear message. It might be hard for him to receive a clear message after listening to Evangelista for so long. So something he might be used could get lost in translation with the new messenger.

“If Cotto gets cut in this one, it is a lot different from the Clottey fight. Clottey sets a pace and sticks with it for most of the fight. But not Pacquiao because he switches up. So the question becomes will the corner be able to keep Cotto in the right mindset, work on the cut and still give him the right information? That will be the hardest part of their job that night and it will be admirable if they can get it done for their fighter.”

Prediction

“I think Manny Pacquiao is going to steal the fight that night. He is good at letting his size fool people and when they see him darting around the ring looking scrappy, boxing and moving and he’s not KO’d, it translate to a round for him. But calling Pacquiao little in this weight class is like calling Mike Tyson a little heavyweight. Pacquiao is a solid guy but his size fools people. He knows how to make the round look like the little guy is dominating a big man.

“Cotto is capable of beating him but for him the game plan is essential and he has to stay true to that plan.”

BUDDY MCGIRT

ANALYSIS

“Pacquiao might have the psychological edge here as he totally trust Freddie and is very comfortable with him. Cotto’s trainer Joe Santiago has never been in this situation before and it is important how he handles it. If he, Joe, can remain calm, not get caught up in the media hype, they should be okay. I don’t know him or his frame of mind but it is a big stage for someone who hasn’t been there before.

Prediction

“I don’t think it is going to come down to either corner. These guys are veterans who know how to make adjustments while they are fighting. In that sense, Cotto is a better adjuster than Pacquiao, as he has had to do in several fights already. I don’t remember a fight (except the Marquez fight) when Pacquiao was in trouble like Cotto has been. I think Cotto can give Pacquiao trouble and then we will see how he handles it.

RONNIE SHIELDS

OVERVIEW

“Miguel Cotto is a legitimate welterweight that proves himself time and time again. I think fighting at 145 lbs is not going to be a problem for Cotto. Its just two pounds under the welterweight limit. He’s got good strength, and first of all, his loss to Margarito proves to me that he can take a great shot. Second, Margarito is a big guy, and Pacquiao is a small guy. Pacquiao has a lot of speed, but I just feel that Cotto is going to walk through him. There is no way that Pacquiao is going to be able to wear Cotto down. As the fight goes on, Cotto is going to get much stronger. I think he’s going to put the pressure on Pacquiao.

“We all saw in the De La Hoya fight, how Pacquiao used speed to his advantage. Pacquiao does pack a good punch. But Cotto’s defense will offset him getting hit so much. Pacquiao cannot take Cotto’s punches throughout the 12 rounds.

On The Corners-

Both fighters have good trainers. They both know what they are doing. But trainers can only help his guy so much. The fighter has to follow what the game plan is. I know that both trainers have a Plan B and possibly a Plan c should something go wrong. All in all, it really is up to the fighter. The trainers can only direct so much to the fighter. The fighter needs to go out there and have the confidence he can do what the trainer wants him to do. And if it doesn’t work, you need to gut it out, and both guys have the ability to do that. But I think that it the advantage is for Cotto who has that power. And on the opposite end, I don’t think that Pacquiao can hurt him enough.

Rebounding From Trouble Coming off of Last Fight-

I don’t know why they criticized the corner. I think that Cotto did a great job against Clottey. I don’t see why they criticized the trainer. The most important thing is what the judges think. The winner was Cotto, and I don’t understand how can you criticize them for winning. If they lost, maybe you go back and say they should have done something different. In the fight, they have a game plan, and it falls to the fighter to follow it. If the fighter goes off the plan, that’s when the corner must tell the fighter to make adjustments.

If anything, I think Clottey’s corner messed up.

Both Roach and Santiago are good trainers, so both guys know what they are doing. Freddie Roach has shown that he has the capabilities to help his guy win, but the other guy has also done some things. This is only his second fight with Cotto, but he has shown the same thing. Neither one has the advantage. Freddie has more experience in the big fight, but that really doesn’t mean anything.

I haven’t seen Pacquiao cut recently, which shows the defense that he has. I have seen Cotto cut, but it didn’t seem to bother him. But again, both guys have had the experience of being cut, so it’s not going to be new to either one of them. It may favor Cotto though, because he has been cut and it hasn’t bothered him.

If he uses his boxing skills, Cotto can get late stoppage. It’s tough to get a knockout against Pacquiao, but I just think Cotto will have what it takes and he’ll have the advantage in the end.”

Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KOs), of General Santos City, Philippines, has won six world titles in as many different weight divisions ranging from 112 to 140 pounds. Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs), from Caguas, Puerto Rico has held a world title every year since 2004.

ROF SIGNS MAIN EVENT FOR DEC CARD

On Friday, December 4th one of MMA’s premiere orginizations returns to action with RING OF FIRE 36: DEMOLITION.

The card will feature Seven UFC veterans and is headlined by two fomer stars of SPIKE TV’s Ultimate Fighter.

TUF Season 8 finalist Vinny Magalhaes will make his ROF debut when he clashes with TUF Season 3 star and local fan favorite BIG Mike Nickels.

Magalhaes is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and hails from Gracie Humaita in Rio de Janeiro, the school founded by Helio Gracie. He now resides in Las Vegas and trains and teaches out of the Tapout Training Center. Magalhaes is a three time world champion in BJJ, and is a Pan American grappling Champion. On TUF Season 8 he defeated Lance Evans, Jules Bruchez and Krzysztof Soszynski. He then moved on to the finale against Ryan Bader losing by knockout. He is coming off a first round submission victory at CFP in North Carolina in October.

BIG Mike Nickels is a brown belt in Machado Jiu-Jitsu. He is the owner and Instructor of Colorado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Highlands Ranch, CO. After going 3-1 in fights at ROF, Nickels went on to be part of Ken Shamrock’s team on Season 3 of the Ultimate fighter. He lost in his first fight to Matt Hamill by unanimous decision; however, he returned on the undercard for the finale, defeating previously undefeated Wes Combs by rear naked choke in the first round. Nickels then returned to ROF for one fight and scored one of the quickest K.O.’s in the promotions history dropping Carpacio Owens in just under 7 seconds. The victory earned him a match against Stephan Bonnar at UFC 73. Nickels has gone 3-0 in his last 3 fights, most recently defeating UFC veteran David Heath at MFC 22 in Canada. He scored both Fight of The Night a Submission of the night awards in the match. The bout was heralded as one, if not the best fight in MFC history.

The remainder of the card feature one of the best lineups in the RING OF FIRE 10 year history. It is stacked with UFC, Strikeforce, and K-1 Veterans and highlighted by promotion stand outs Duane BANG Ludwig and Alvin KID Robinson.

BRIAN COHEN’S BIONIC BULL MANAGEMENT SIGNS THREE TOP FIGHTERS

Light Heavyweight contender branches off to management with signing of Eric “Outlaw” Hunter, Ed Perry, and woman’s boxing number-one fighter, Melissa “Hurracan” Hernandez

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHILADELPHIA (NOVEMBER 6, 2009)—from the ring to the bargaining table is how he describes it.

Light Heavyweight contender, Brian “Bionic Bull” Cohen is proud to announce the signing of his first three fighters in top Featherweight prospect, Eric “The Outlaw” Hunter, cruiserweight Ed Perry and the woman regarded as one of the top and most exciting female fighters in the world, Melissa “Hurracan” Hernandez.

“I have been around boxing my whole life” said the Light Heavyweight contender who has a record of 12-2 with eleven knockouts.

“My father has been managing fighters for thirty years, my mother promotes and I have been fighting. I feel with all that experience, I can help a lot of fighters achieve great success and with my company I hope to help these fighters win many world championships for years to come”

Hunter of Philadelphia has a record of 11-1 with four knockouts and has won six in a row since suffering his first pro defeat in 2007.

Hunter was one of the most decorated amateurs in Philadelphia boxing history as he amassed a un heard of 276-4 mark and was an Olympic Alternate 2004.

After battling an eye injury that kept him out much of 2009, Hunter exploded back on the scene with very impressive six round unanimous decision over Wilshaun Boxley on September 26th in South Philadelphia.

“Eric Hunter is a guy that everyone wanted coming out of the amateurs. He has been one of the top fighters in Philadelphia, pro or amateurs for a long time and what people seem to forget is that he is just twenty-three years old”, said Cohen.

“His talent is unquestioned and anyone who sees him fight can see that he will be a world champion very quickly and we are positioning him for that opportunity. I think within a year he could be doing just that.”

Hernandez of the Bronx, New York is known for her all-out action style and has taking on the best female fighters in the world.

She is the former two-time WIBA Super Featherweight champion, and GBU Lightweight champion.

She fought for the IFBA Featherweight title in her fourth fight and she held forty-two fight veteran Kelsey Jeffries to a draw.

On December 4th, Hernandez will go to Albuquerque, New Mexico and move up three weight classes to take on Holly Holm at Holm’s natural weight in her hometown.

“Melissa will be the face of woman’s boxing after she slays Holly”, said Cohen.

“She signed a bad contract for this fight and its my job going forward to make sure she gets the respect that she deserves as being one of the best female fighters in the world.”

“The fact she has and will fight anyone, anywhere at any weight shows that she has more heart than any female plus she is very exciting and combine that with her skill level, I defiantly believe that she has what it takes to be that cross over star that female boxing has been lacking.”

Last but not least, Cohen feels Perry can be a real sleeper in the cruiserweight division.

The native of Lafayette has a record of 15-4-2 with nine knockouts. The record does not indicate everything as he has only lost one time fighting as a cruiserweight.

Perry is 5-0-1 in his last six with that one draw being to then undefeated and highly regarded Shawn Hawk.

Since that draw Perry has won five straight and with his new management team Perry will look to carry on that momentum into a top fifteen ranking.

“Ed is a guy who has been under the radar but I have seen him first hand and I know he can fight.” said Cohen.

“I would like to get him some fights on a higher platform so the fans can see what I see in Ed and that’s a real tough fighter who I know can compete at the highest level of the cruiserweight division”
