NEW YORK (Oct. 29, 2009)—SHOWTIME Sports cameras were entrenched in the training camp of undefeated American powerhouse Brett “The Grim” Rogers in Minneapolis earlier this week as he prepares for the highest profile fight of his career.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, Rogers faces world No. 1 ranked heavyweight fighter Fedor Emelianenko in the main event of “STRIKEFORCE/ M-1 GLOBAL: Fedor vs. Rogers” LIVE on the CBS Television Network (9:00 PM live ET /delayed PT) at the Sears Centre in Chicago.

The mobile Brute Adidas studios will hit the road this Saturday for one of our first LIVE road shows of the year. Join Scott Casber and Steve Foster for what has now become a tradition on TDR.

University of Northern Iowa Panthers Set to Stream Wrestle offs on TDR

Originally TDR was set to broadcast a regular room show at UNI this Saturday. Opportunity smiled and we now have the opportunity to present a live video stream of the UNI Wrestle-offs from the West Gym in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The University of Northern Iowa wrestling team will take to the mat for the first time in the 2009-10 season, hosting its annual inter-squad scrimmage. The wrestle-offs will begin Saturday,
Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. in the West Gym. The event is free and open to the public.

The Panthers are coming off a 22^nd place finish at the 2009 NCAA Championships after capturing their 24^th –straight West Regional title. The Panthers return seven national qualifiers including Trent Washington
and Christian Brantley. Both Washington and Brantley have found themselves ranked in preseason polls with Amateur Wrestling News ranking Washington No. 17 at the 141-pound slot and Brantley 11^th in the
heavyweight class. Intermat ranks Washington at No. 15 and Brantley at No. 12 for their respective weight classes.

UNI will open the regular season Nov. 14 at the Northwestern Duals where they will take on Eastern Michigan, Purdue and Stanford. UNI’s first home dual meet of the season will be Dec. 12 against Wisconsin at 2 p.m.

Nov. 7 “David vs. Goliath” PPV card live from Germany

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 28, 2009) – Three-time world cruiserweight champion David “The Haymaker” Haye is excited that his “David vs. Goliath” title fight Nov. 7 against World Boxing Association heavyweight champion Nikolai “The Russian Giant” Valuev is being broadcast in North America live on Pay-Per-View from Nuremberg, Germany.

Valuev-Haye is promoted by Wilfried Sauerland’s Sauerland Event and its Managing Director, Christian Meyer, in association with Don King Productions. The outspoken Haye, (22-1, 21 KOs), from London, England, plans to showcase his superior quickness and athleticism versus Valuev, after leaving the cruiserweight division in ruins as the unified WBA/WBC/WBO cruiserweight champion before moving up to heavyweight last year.

Valuev (50-1, 34 KOs), from St. Petersburg, Russia, is the two-time and current WBA heavyweight champion who holds the distinction of being the tallest and heaviest champion in history at an intimidating 7 feet and 325 pounds.

“The Hayemaker” has taunted Valuev since their fight was first announced. “Getting riled-up and angry is never good for any fighter,” Haye noted. “It doesn’t allow you to think straight or follow a game plan. You start to fight emotionally, rather than tactfully. If I have gotten under Valuev’s skin, it will only affect his performance in a negative way. He’ll fight angry, throw wild punches and become reckless. The more angry punches he throws, the more chances there will be for me to counter punch him and find holes in his defense.

“I’m as freakishly fast as Valuev is freakishly big. That’s the key to this fight. I’m never going to be bigger or stronger than a guy like Valuev, no matter how hard I train or now many weights I lift. My main advantage going into this fight is raw speed, agility and explosiveness. I’ll be able to hit him multiple times for every one punch he attempts to land on me.”

Haye, whose only pro loss was 13 fights and five years ago to Carl Thompson (TKO5), has defeated four world cruiserweight champions: Enzo Maccarinelli (TKO1) for the WBA/WBC/WBO crowns, Jean Marc Mormeck (TKO7) for the WBC/WBA championships, Giacobbe Fragomeni (TKO9) for the European title and “King” Arthur Williams (TKO3).

“Beating Valuev by any means will confirm what I’ve said all along – I’m one of the top heavyweights in the world,” Haye concluded. “It will also fulfil my dream of becoming a world heavyweight champion. PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Oct. 27, 2009) – One of the hottest prospects on the East Coast, Philadelphia light welterweight “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy, is continuing the great “City of Brotherly Love” boxing tradition, determined to become Philly’s premier 135- to 140-pound fighter of contemporary times.

Lundy (15-0-1, 9 KOs) faces his toughest opponent, former WBC FECARBOX and WBA Fedecentro champion Aldo “El Pato” Valtierra (25-11, 13 KOs), Saturday night in the 10-round co-feature (Halloween) on the “Fright Night At The Sun” pro boxing card, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports, Inc. (CES), at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

World-rated light heavyweight Joey “K.O. Kid” Spina (25-1-1, 17 KOs) headlines “Fright Night At The Sun” against former world champion Lou “Honey Boy” Del Valle (36-6-1, 22 KOs) in the 10-round main event.

Valtierra is a typical Mexican fighter – tough and well-conditioned with a straight-forward attack. He’s fought on national television numerous times and has only been stopped once in 36 pro fights. Fighting undefeated fighters like Lundy isn’t a new experience for Aldo, whose most recent action resulted in an upset victory against previously unbeaten and rated prospect Jorge Luis Teron (22-0-1). Valtierra also has knocked off 15-0 Frankie Zepeda on ESPN2 and went the distance with former world champions Steven Luevano, Hector Acero Sanchez and Julio Pablo Chacon, along with world-title challengers Daniel Attach and Rogers Mtagwa.

“Hank is a throwback type of fighter,” promoter Jimmy Burchfield said. “He’s a gym rat who is always working out. He’s comfortable now with a great team — manager Ivan Cohen, and head trainer Sloan Harrison – so, all he has to be concerned with now is training and fighting. There’s a 2 ½-mile run in Lincoln Woods (R.I.), where I’ve brought Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard to train. It’s all hills, but Hank flies around it and is barely breathing hard at the end. He is really coming into his own and ready to fight a ranked guy. Hank wants to fight for a title and beating Valtierra should get him there. This is without question Hank’s toughest fight as a pro.”

In his last action in September, Lundy stopped Justo Sanchez in the sixth round to capture the vacant UBC light welterweight crown. Hank’s most notable wins to date were a fifth-round TKO against previously unbeaten Jason Cintron (10-0) and 4-round decision over previously undefeated Esteban Almarez (7-0). The only blemish on Lundy’s pro record is a controversial draw with 8-0 Darnell Jiles Jr. on ESPN (Mar. 28, 2008), in which most observers felt Hank won.

“I want to be the first big lightweight/junior welterweight from Philly,” the 25-year-old Lundy explained. “It’s a lot on my shoulders, but I welcome it because I want to give fans what they want to see. Most know that ‘Hammerin’’ Hank is coming to fight. I don’t do nothing else but train hard. It’s search-and-destroy for me. I love my family, but I get away from everybody when I go into training for a fight. That’s why I want to destroy my opponent; he kept me away from my family. I keep it easy. Most Philly fighters today are in the gym to train for a fight. I keep it up after a fight. When a call comes for a fight, I’m ready to go because I’ve been training hard, staying focused and there’s no pressure. I will be world champion someday.”

“Being a Philly fighter is a big key for me. I know my opponent knows he’s fighting a tough Philly fighter, probably the toughest he’s ever fought, so he trains harder than usual for me. He knows it’s going to be a war. In any gym in this city, you walk in and can see a main-event type fight in a sparring session. I’m smart enough to know what guys to spar and what gyms to go to for it.”

On the undercard in separate 4-round bouts are a pair of promising Hartford (CT) prospects from Puerto Rico, Hartford junior middleweight David Bauza (2-0, 2 KOs) against Rafael Jastrzebski, and light welterweight Edwin Soto (1-0, 1 KO) of New Havem versus pro-debuting Rasheed Francis.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Oct. 27, 2009) – Appearances are often misleading, especially in boxing. Unbeaten lightweight Ryan “The Polish Prince” Kielczewski will be a perfect example Saturday night when he fights on the undercard of the “Fright Night At The Sun” pro boxing show, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports, Inc. (CES), at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

World-rated light heavyweight Joey “K.O. Kid” Spina (25-1-1, 17 KOs) headlines “Fright Night At The Sun,” which will be taped live and shown on NESN at dates and times to be announced, against former world champion Lou “Honey Boy” Del Valle (36-6-1, 22 KOs) in the 10-round main event.

The 20-year-old Kielczewski (5-0, 2 KOs), fighting out of Quincy (MA), faces Israel Suarez (2-2) in a 4-round bout. When he goes up those three steps and into the ring, Ryan K. will go through a transformation worthy of The Incredible Hulk on Halloween Night, changing from the boy who looks like a choirboy into a cold, calculated prize fighter.

“I have no idea what happens to me,” said Ryan as he tried to explain his noticeable change. “If somebody bumps into me on the street, I’m the first one to say sorry. It’s what I’ve been trained to do, I guess.”

The angelic-looking Kielczewski was truly born to box. His father, Ricky, Sr., taught his oldest son, Ricky, Jr., to box when he was only six years old. Five years later, 4-year-old Ryan was tagging along with his father and older brother to shows. In fact, Ryan was caught sleeping on the “apron” at one show in a popular picture.

Ryan had been bitten by the boxing bug, so he bugged his dad to box, and right from the start everybody knew he was going to be successful in the ring. His father decided to keep Ryan away from all other sports, even at an early age, so Ryan could fully concentrate on becoming a boxer.

“I wanted to play football in high school,” he said, “but I realized boxing was my way out. I couldn’t afford to get hurt playing football, so I stayed in the gym and have no regrets. I’ve always loved to entertain and I can’t wait to fight at Mohegan Sun for the first time. It’s a great opportunity for me.”

Kielczewski registered a 118-26 amateur record, including gold-medal performances in the 2007 and 2008 New England Golden Gloves Tournament (he was named Outstanding Boxer in the latter). The highlight of his outstanding amateur career, however, came early last year when Kielczewski was runner-up in the National Golden Gloves Tournament.

“I was at the top as an amateur but started at the bottom as a pro like everybody else, 0-0,” Ryan noted. “I can’t wait to break into the rankings and start fighting in 8- and 10-round bouts. I’m only 20 and it’ll be three years before I’m probably fully developed. I don’t know if it’ll be as a lightweight, but my goal is to someday be world champion.”

UBC junior welterweight champion “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (15-0-1, 9 KOs), one of the hottest prospects on the East Coast, is scheduled to fight an opponent to be determined in the 10-round co-feature.

Promising Puerto Rican prospects now fighting out of Hartford – middleweight David Bauza (2-0, 2 KOs) against Vaughn Anderson (0-1) and New Haven light welterweight Edwin Soto (1-0, 1 KO) versus Deroy “Guyanase Gladiator” Beaton (1-0) — are showcased in 4-round matches.

In other 4-round fights on the undercard, 2008 Olympian Sadam Ali (3-0, 2 KOs) meets welterweight Osvaldo Rivera (2-1, 1 KO), while 2008 New York Golden Glove champion Joe Smith, Jr., of Long Island, and David Brown make their pro debuts in light heavyweight matches.
