Las Vegas, NV, October 11, 2009 – “Punch-out,” returns to the Palms Casino Resort in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, October 17th, 2009. Headlining this explosive night of action which begins at 7:00 P.M. will be a 12 round USBA Middleweight Championship bout. Rounding out the night Guilty Boxing seeks to raise the entertainment value as we put several boxing and MMA fights together for your viewing pleasure in what we consider the best of both worlds.
In the featured bout of the evening, Guilty Boxing presents a 12 Round USBA Middleweight Championship Bout between Lajuan Simon (21-2-2, 12 KO’s) current USBA Middleweight Champion of Philadelphia, PA against “Mandatory Challenger” Elvin Ayala (20-3-1, 9 KO’s), of New Haven, CT in what should be a sizzling all action twelve round title affair. Undercard boxing action will showcase the likes of two local Las Vegas talents, Hard charging, non-stop puncher “Lightning” Lonnie Smith (8-2, 6 KO’s) fighting in a six round bout at lightweight facing off against Hesperia, California’s battle tested veteran, Khadaphi Proctor (4-4, 1 KO’s). Also featured on the card will be the mauler from Morocco, Sid “The Messenger” El Harrak (7-0, 3 KO’s) to see action against Will “The Thrill” Walton (4-1, 4 KO’s), from Salt Lake City, Utah and coming off a dazzling first round KO victory in his last outing. As an added attraction, Las Vegas Heavyweight Clarence Tillman as well as junior welterweight Anthony Lenk will round out the card.

New York, October 12—Boxing trainer and ESPN2 Friday Night Fights analyst Teddy Atlas continues to fight the good fight. In his undying efforts to improve the quality of life for those in need in memory of his Good Samaritan father, every year he enlists the support of sports and entertainment celebrities to attend the annual Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation Dinner. One of the most looked-forward-to galas on the Autumn New York banquet circuit, this year’s 13th annual benefit is set for Thursday night, November 19, once again at the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island. Two headliners – New York Giants star running back Brandon Jacobs and Colorado Rockies standout right handed hurler and New York product Jason Marquis – will be on hand to support the cause.
The Sopranos stars Tony Sirico and Joe Gannascoli, and Sex and The City and Law & Order star Chris Noth join what will be a long list of personalities expected at this year’s blockbuster, including members of both the Jets and Giants. The Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that provides financial and emotional support to individuals and organizations in need, and focuses primarily on the needs of children. It was founded in 1997 by boxing trainer, commentator and motivational speaker Teddy Atlas to honor the memory of his father, Dr. Theodore Atlas, a Staten Island physician who for 55 years provided medical services to his community. His spirit of giving is embodied in the Foundation that bears his name.
The Foundation comes to the aid of people in a variety of difficult situations, people who have nowhere else to turn for help, people who would otherwise fall between the cracks. And it does so in a very direct and very real way. Once the Foundation identifies a person or family in need, it immediately moves to help, and avoids any bureaucratic obstacles which might damage the recipient’s pride. In addition to helping thousands of individuals and families in their times of need, the Foundation has engaged in larger endeavors such as creating incentive programs in schools to encourage and motivate students, creating a food pantry on Staten Island to insure that children do not go to bed hungry, and distributing turkeys at Thanksgiving and toys at Christmas to families that don’t have the financial resources to properly celebrate the holidays.
There is so much more work to be done, and the Foundation remains committed to the mission of bringing help to people in their time of need, no matter how great or small the call.

BRINKLEY – “I’LL FIGHT ANYONE AT 168!”

Reno, NV (October 12th, 2009) – World ranked supper middleweight, Jesse Brinkley, is calling everyone out at 168 lbs.
“I want Green, Bika, Bute, Stieglitz…and everyone else in the division.” Says Brinkley. “I would love to fight all of the guys in Showtime’s super-six tournament too, but they are all locked up until 2012.”
Brinkley has been on a two-year tear. He is 8-0 (5 KOs) since June of 2007. Within that time, he became the WBC USNBC super middleweight champion with a spectacular eleventh round knockout over Otis Griffin. He dominated his cross-town rival, Joey Gilbert, this Valentines Day in what turned out to be the biggest fight to take place in Reno, NV in decades. And he is coming off of a terrific performance against top Baltimore super middleweight Mike Paschall in July; which resulted in a unanimous decision victory.
In a career that has spanned over twelve years, the 32 year-old Brinkley compiled a record of 34-5 with 22 knockouts.
“Jesse Brinkley is one of the best super middleweights in the world and he deserves a shot at a world title.” Says Let’s Get It On Promotions’ Terry Lane. “We’ve discussed big fights for Jesse with several promoters, but the other fighters, promoters, and managers always pass him up for an easier option. That is terrible for boxing.”
“I am just shy of 40 pro fights.” Added Brinkley. “Bute has 24, Froch has 25…and they are champions! I’ve had ups and downs in my career, but who doesn’t? I’ve passed the test of time and it’s my turn to get a shot!”
Jesse Brinkley is currently rated #5 by the IBF, #9 by the WBC, and #13 by boxrec.

Olympic Medalist has high hopes for Canadian Heavyweight Champ
TORONTO – (Sunday, October 11, 2009) There’s nothing like a top-flight heavyweight prospect to get a trainer’s blood racing, just ask 1988 Olympic Silver Medalist, Egerton Marcus.
The Canadian Olympic hero has dove into training on the professional level in a big way, landing one of the top prospects in the world, undefeated Canadian Heavyweight champion Greg “The Steel Pole” Kielsa (10-0, 5 KO’s).
“He’s a good kid, but he’s got a lot of learning, and unlearning, to do,” an excited and enthused Marcus said of the 2000 Polish Olympian.
“He’s so physically gifted, but he picked up some poor habits along the way. But for a natural athlete like Greg, it shouldn’t be that big a problem. He’s already making huge strides.”
The 6-foot 4 Kielsa is a conditioning machine, regularly coming into the ring no more than a trim and fit 239 lbs.
Kielsa’s great conditioning and natural strength however haven’t translated into an abundance of KO’s on his resume. According to Marcus though, Kielsa’s knockout percentage is on the verge of exploding.
“Greg has a lot of natural power, but we haven’t seen it yet in the ring.
“Give him a couple of fights with me, and he’ll be stopping guys on a regular basis.”
The generally quiet and reserved Kielsa was relatively effusive when asked about his first few weeks with Marcus at the helm.
“He is an excellent coach. I’m already seeing the improvements. I feel new energy coming to the gym and training everyday.”
“He’s shown me a lot of new things that will make me a much better fighter.”
One of those things, Marcus said, is stepping up Kielsa’s competition, to get him in the position to fight the best in the world.
“It’s time to look beyond Canada for opponents because there are no real challenges for him locally,” Marcus said.
“If he really wants to advance himself in this game he has to set his sights on some real opposition, not the minnows here in Canada.”
The other member of Kielsa’s team who is bubbling over with excitement is manager, James Jardine, who will be ringside when the Kielsa-Marcus duo make their paid debut together on November 21, at Casino Rama, in Rama, Ontario, on the Rumble at Rama X undercard, against an opponent yet to be determined.
“Honestly, when I see Greg in the ring now, it’s like night and day from where he was before,” Jardine said.
“He’s10-0 right now, and our American promoter, Banner Promotions, has already lined up a couple of fights for Greg on ESPN next year. And with Eggerton in the corner, and the world about to see what Greg can do in the ring, the sky really is the limit.”
“Now we have a fighter with an upside equaled to his work ethic,” Jardine continued.
“And when you guide the career of a workhorse like Greg, you owe him the benefit of the best training environment possible. And that’s what we have here with Egerton.”
