Wrestling and MMA Fans Now Able to View TakeDown Radio’s TDR TV on Xtremecouture.Tv

Des Moines, IA- September 28, 2009- TakeDown Radio’s (TDR) newest and most innovative product, TDR TV, has been added to one of combat sports most popular web sites. TDR TV’s 24th episode is the first to appear on xtremecouture.tv, the on-line presence for the Xtreme Couture enterprise, which is owned by MMA and wrestling icon, Randy Couture.
Wrestling and MMA fans will enjoy weekly video recaps of America’s wrestling news via the half hour program. The program is made possible in part by Xtreme Couture, where host Scott Casber covers college and international news, with a little MMA sprinkled in as well. TDR TV provides a new and great way to see where MMA’s next big stars are coming from, that being wrestling!
Xtreme Couture is a long standing supporter of TakeDown Radio. Now, their support extends to include TDR TV, at nearly the same time they launched their own new video programming, a training DVD titled Wrestling for Fighting. In total, the Xtreme Couture enterprise includes training centers, camps, apparel, training videos, and energy drinks. TDR TV joins a wealth of content on the xtremecouture.tv site including blogs, forums, as well as an MMA store.
“TDR and Xtreme Couture have been in lock step regarding advancing the opportunities for wrestlers. The addition of our video programming to their web site exemplifies our mutual goals and visions”, stated TDR’s Scott Casber. HARRISON: I’M GOING TO INFLICT MORE PUNISHMENT ON WILLIAMS

AUDLEY VOWS TO SETTLE OLD SCORES, WIN PRIZEFIGHTER AND CLAIM WORLD TITLE INSIDE TWO YEARS
AUDLEY Harrison has threatened to inflict ‘a lot more punishment’ on Danny Williams in Friday’s Prizefighter Heavyweights III event.
Harrison, 37, thinks victory in the eight-man, one-night tournament will see ‘the rebirth’ of his career and lead to him becoming World Champion inside two years.
However, Williams, the current British Champion, potentially stands between Harrison and Prizefighter glory at London’s ExCel Arena.
The pair, who have fought twice with one win apiece, are in separate halves of the draw and could only fight in a mouth-watering final.
“Me and Danny are 1-1 and he keeps on saying we don’t like each other but I’ve got nothing against him,” added Harrison.
“He beat me with a split decision and I destroyed him second time out and he probably doesn’t like me because of that.
“Danny spends a long time talking, thinking and probably dreaming about me.
“But he really needs to think how much punishment he is taking in his career. If he meets me in the final then he will take a lot more punishment.
“I’m confident that if we meet in the final then I’ve got Danny’s number.
“He’s my main rival and on the other side of the draw so it would be a real grudge match and a big fight.”
Harrison, who fights Northern Ireland’s Scott Belshaw in his quarter-final, won Olympic gold in 2000 but his professional career has faltered with four defeats in his last eight contests.
However, he believes outside influences and ‘the boxing system’ have conspired to ‘sabotage’ his career.
“Unfortunately for me and real boxing purists I have lost a chance to have a lasting legacy but I still have plenty of time to win the world title,” added Harrison.
“By the time I’m 39 I’m over. I’m not in boxing for the money; I’m in it to be World Champion. Once I’ve achieved that it will be ‘see you later, I’m off’.
“On Friday you will see the rebirth of Audley Harrison, the boxer people thought was dead, buried and gone.
“I turned professional in 2001 and was self-managed and self-promoted, which is what I always wanted.
“Unfortunately for me the boxing system didn’t like that. It’s a story I want to tell, of how my career has been blocked and sabotaged and, at the right time, I will tell it. It’s been a battle of adversity and persistence.
“Sometimes the mountains you face out of the ring turn out to be too huge and that determines what you do in the ring.”
When asked if he was going to win Prizefighter, Harrison concluded: “There are no ifs. I’ve prepared for victory and when I prepare for victory I just need to walk in and do it.”

– Eight competitors in the same weight fight in four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final with all the action happening in one exciting night of boxing.
– Each contest lasts a maximum of three rounds with standard boxing rules applied.
– If there has not been a knockout or stoppage then the winner will be decided by three scoring judges at ringside.
– The winner of Prizefighter – Heavyweights III will receive £32,000, the runner-up gets £16,000, losing semi-finalists receive £8,000 and beaten quarter-finalists collect £4,000. The total prize fund is £80,000 – £11,000 more than for previous Prizefighter tournaments.
– This will be the eighth Prizefighter competition. The first – Heavyweights I – was held in April 2008. The others staged were Heavyweights II (September), Welterweights (October), Middleweights (November), Light-heavyweights (February), Lightweights (March) and Cruiserweights (May).

– If one of the fighters wins a bout but is unable to compete in the next round (ie a bad cut) then one of two reserves will step into their place for the rest of the tournament. The two reserves are Paul Butlin (Melton Mowbray) and Lee Swaby (Lincoln).

Liddell, St. Pierre, Evans Among Six in Initial Round 5 UFC Series

Florian, Guida and Machida also Featured in First Six Produced Under UFC Agreement
MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada, September 29, 2009 – Its landmark marketing partnership freshly in place, Round 5 is pleased to announce the members of the first series of collectible figurines under the UFC brand, a group of six accomplished fighters, as announced today by Barron Lau, Round 5 CEO and co-founder and Damon Lau, president and co-founder. Figurines for stars Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, George “Rush” St. Pierre, “Suga” Rashad Evans, Kenny “KenFlo” Florian, Clay “The Carpenter” Guida and Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida are scheduled to be available at retail and at www.Round5MMA.com early next year.
The six collectibles will be presented in a new UFC-themed packaging that includes action photos of each respective fighter’s memorable moments as well as a short biography.
“These six athletes provide a strong, varied base for our first UFC series,” said Damon Lau. “There are established champions like Chuck Liddell and George St. Pierre, popular up-and-comers like Rashad Evans and Kenny Florian and guys like Clay Guida and Lyoto Machida who have loyal, growing followings.”
“We think fans will really connect to these collectibles through their detail and the enhanced packaging,” said Barron Lau. “We want them to feel that by owning a Round 5 figurine, they, in a sense, own a piece of that fighter.”
The issuance of UFC Series 1 signals the discontinuation of the previous Round 5 Series. The remaining inventory from the 17 figurines issued in the previous four Series under that brand will continue to be available while supplies last. Limited editions and other special versions of the UFC Series 1 athletes are also in the planning stages.
“The Limited Editions we have issued have been wildly popular, so we are definitely looking at expanding those offerings,” added Barron Lau.
Liddell, one of the most popular MMA fighters ever, held the UFC light heavyweight belt for two years, using his devastating striking skills to rack up a 21-7 record, including 13 knockouts, against a top-shelf list of opponents since his 1998 debut at UFC 17. He also showed his power by ending all five of his successful title defenses with a KO or TKO.
St. Pierre is often mentioned on the short list of top “pound-for-pound” fighters in MMA, and he’s backed up that distinction with wins in his last six bouts, all headliners, to raise his overall mark to 19-2. The UFC welterweight champion proudly represents his native Montreal, Canada.
Evans has shed his underdog status with a series of standout victories, moving to light heavyweight after winning The Ultimate Fighter 2 television series as a heavyweight. Now 13-1-1, successive wins over Michael Bisping, Liddell and Forrest Griffin were surprises to many and earned “Suga” his first title shot earlier this year, a loss to Machida.
Florian is another graduate of The Ultimate Fighter who has fulfilled his promise, springboarding from his strong performance in TUF 1 to post an 11-4 record and headline cards. He has also branched out to the media side of the sport as a weekly host of MMA Live on ESPN and several UFC color commentary stints.
Guida has ridden strong conditioning, action-packed fights and a flashy style to a prolific MMA career, with 35 bouts (25 wins) to his credit. Known as “The Carpenter” for his previous career while he trained and fought for his chance, Guida is a frequent “Fight of the Night” honoree, including his last bout, a split decision defeat in a free-for-all with Diego Sanchez in June.
Machida is also prominent in the “pound-for-pound” discussion, made even more evident by his win over previously-unbeaten Evans at UFC 98 in May, in which “The Dragon’s” lightning-quick form and powerful striking was on full display. The undefeated (15-0) UFC light heavyweight champion is scheduled to make his first defense against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on October 24.
