Super featherweigth prospect Joel Diaz (7-0-6KO) made his national television debut on Showbox last week in impressive fashion.  Diaz stopped the very tough Guy Robb (7-1-3KO) in the 7th round of his scheduled 8 round fight.  Diaz was knocked to the floor by Robb early on in the fight, but got up and took care of business.  Robb showed up to fight, and has a bright future ahead of him as well.

Diaz went on to get a 7th round TKO in front of a nationally televised audience.  This bodes well for his young career, as he was able to show the fans that he’s a young hard hitting brawler that’s not afraid to dig down deep.

Diaz joined 8CN this evening and talked about his win and what lays ahead for his future.  Check out the entire Podcast with Joel Diaz.  Listen to the Podcast of this interview here.

Mark Coleman, Frank Trigg and K-1 Champion Rick Roufus to Compete in Saturday’s Kountermove “Fight Legends” Fantasy MMA Tournament

Posted on | January 27, 2012 | No Comments

San Francisco, CA. – January 27, 2012 – Kountermove is thrilled to announce that UFC veteran’s Mark Coleman andFrank Trigg and K-1 Legend Rick “The Jet” Roufus have joined the Kountermove Fantasy MMA movement! This weekend MMA fans can enter the “Fight Legends” Kountermove tournament to test their fight prediction skills against three legendary combat sports fighters.

According to Aaron Ard, co-founder of Kountermove, “It is such an honor to have Mark ColemanRick Roufus and Frank Trigg competing in this weekend’s Kountermove “Fight Legends” tournament. This ups the stakes for fans, as they are testing their fight prediction skills against true legends in the sport.”

Ard went on to say, “We are committed to keeping Kountermove tournaments fun and interesting for fight fans and what better way than to host tournaments where they can play against some of their favorite fighters. We also plan to host a Kountermove “Coaches Invitational” tournament in the near future, where MMA coaches will have the opportunity to test their Fantasy MMA skills and go head-to head with coaches from other gyms.”

The 110 player “Fight Legends” Fantasy MMA Tournament has a $5 entry fee and a $500 prize pool. Fans can log on towww.kountermove.com to enter the tournament. Spots are filling up fast!

Kountermove’s fantasy MMA games work very similar to fantasy football. Members draft a team of fighters and compete with that team against other Kountermove players in their league. Members have a $25,000 “salary cap” when drafting their fantasy team of fighters, each fighter has a “salary” designated by Kountermove. Members choose from free or entry fee games of varying sizes.

Winners and losers are then determined by fantasy points earned based on each fighter’s performance – strikes landed, submission attempts, knockdowns, dominant positions, rounds won, and knockout or submission bonuses.

After each event, Kountermove updates game results by listing the points members received for that event, the rankings, and prize pool winners. All entry fees are added into a prize pool that is divided among the league’s winners at the end of the game. Visit www.kountermove.com for full details on the Kountermove fantasy MMA scoring system.

The Kountermove Fantasy MMA site, backed by Randy “The Natural” Couture, continues to gain momentum in the MMA community and has quickly become a popular destination for MMA fans, fighters and key media players. The site has both paid tournaments and FREE tournaments and is a great way for fans to learn more about the fight stats of MMA’s rising stars.

For more information on Kountermove please visit www.kountermove.com or follow Kountermove on twitter @kountermove.
