UNDEFEATED WELTERWEIGHT PROSPECT THOMAS “CORNFLAKE” LAMANNA SIGNS ENDORSEMENT DEAL WITH MHP (MAXIMUM HUMAN PERFORMANCE)

Posted on | August 2, 2011 | No Comments

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 2, 2011)—Undefeated Welterweight prospect, Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna has signed an endorsement contract with MHP (Maximum Human Performance)

MHP is a supplement company that helps athletes build their bodies with different products such as Fat Burners, Creatine, Amino Acids and Multi Vitamins.

“I can already see changes in my body”, said LaManna

LaManna has a record of 4-0 with three knockouts will be making his next ring appearance on Wednesday September 14th at The Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey.

LaManna has been taking Probolic-SR & Isofast 50 for Protein and a multi vitamin called Activate Sport

“Because of the changes and signing with this company, you will see a different “Cornflake” on September 14th.”

MHP is the creation of former top-level bodybuilder Gerard Dente. When he was competing, Gerard constantly researched the best training techniques, diet strategies and other performance enhancement methods needed to gain a competitive edge. Yet it was his genius with supplementation that fueled him to be one of the biggest and strongest competitors of his day. In fact, Gerard was using ingredients like high doses of leucine, KIC, tribulus and arginine long before they became popular. He was convinced that athletes deserved better and decided to take some action by founding MHP.

Since its inception, MHP’s corporate mission has been to develop premier science-based, research-driven sports supplements to help athletes achieve their greatest physical potential. Over the years, MHP has introduced many innovations and breakthroughs in sports nutrition. For instance, MHP was the first company to introduce arginine for nitric oxide production to the bodybuilding world way back in early 1999 (via ADNO – arginine derived nitric oxide), when the company launched the creatine/NO product TRAC. In addition, the patented 12-hour sustained release protein formula in Probolic-SR has been an unmatched industry standard since it was released in 2004. MHP was the first company to introduce the incredible blood-boosting power of EPO in 2008 with Dark Rage. And with new highly advanced GlycoCarn/KNO3 Nitrite-NO Technology now available in NO-BOMB, MHP continues to provide new and exclusive innovations in performance enhancing supplementation.

Because of its dedicated research and development, innovative formulations, clinically researched ingredients and cutting edge products, MHP has become the most trusted brand and industry leader among world-class athletes, pro bodybuilders, powerlifters, strongmen and fitness enthusiasts alike. The numerous world records that MHP athletes hold in powerlifting and strongman, plus the many top titles in bodybuilding, fitness and figure, signify how much our supplements are capable of helping athletes achieve. In addition, countless top lifting coaches and trainers also use and recommend MHP products.

“All of the elite athletes I work with use nutritional supplements,” says Joe Carini, a former powerlifting champion who trains many top NFL stars and strongmen at Carini’s House of Iron. “Because of my years of experience as a competitive powerlifter and supplement user, I recommend only MHP products to my athletes.”

MHP products are used by the world’s elite athletes. Find out how they can help you and learn what MHP is all about. Feel free to call us toll-free at 1-888-783-8844

HOUSTON “THE ASSASSIN” ALEXANDER AND RAZAK “THE RAZOR” AL-HASSAN READY TO EXECUTE AT MMA FIGHT PIT: “GENESIS”

Posted on | August 2, 2011 | No Comments

Description: Description: Description: cid:image001.jpg@01CC5132.31559A10

Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA): The main event of “MMA Fight Pit: Genesis” features two UFC® veterans known for finishing their opponents in Houston “The Assassin” Alexander and Razak “Razor” Al-Hassan. Both light heavyweights have enjoyed success since their release from the UFC®, and both are hungry to electrify both the local New Mexico crowd and the national Pay-Per-View audience.

“The Assassin” is a realist when it comes to his perception of the fight with Al-Hassan. “Every fight is important in my career …not just one single fight …every fight,” says Alexander. “Whenever I get in the ring [or cage], it’s important.”

For “Razor,” a grappling whiz, many MMA pundits expect him to try to take the fight to the mat as soon as possible. He feels differently. “I feel very comfortable on my feet or on the ground in a fight,” states “Razor.” “I don’t dictate where the fight goes…I let my opponent do that.”

As for the fans, both fighters plan to bring the electricity to the cage. “The fans can expect nothing less than the aggressive style they are used to [from me],” promises “The Assassin.” “They will see an exciting standup fighter with some strikes and kicks you don’t normally see. Don’t blink, because you might not see it twice,” concludes “Razor.”

Houston “The Assassin” Alexander (12-6-0-2) is one of the most unique competitors in mixed martial arts (MMA) today. As a teenager, Alexander joined up with an alliance of graffiti artists, and has long been involved with Omaha, Nebraska’s underground hip hop scene. He continues to keep up his love of music as a DJ in the Omaha area. When he’s not spinning tunes, “The Assassin” is busy training and fighting as one of the hardest-working athletes in the sport. A noted slugger, he began his career with a 6-1-0-1 record, which included five strike-related finishes. This string of performances earned Alexander a shot in the UFC®, and he made the most of it. In a signature win, “The Assassin” dispatched Jackson’s MMA competitor “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine in under at minute at UFC® 71, earning himself a three-fight contract with the promotion as a result. He punched out Alessio Sakara in his next bout, and quickly garnered a reputation for his “kill or be killed” mentality in the cage. Unfortunately, Alexander endured a rough stretch where he suffered defeats at the hands of Thiago Silva, James Irvin, Eric Schafer, and Kimbo Slice, which saw him released from the UFC® as a result. However, since his exodus from the promotion, Alexander has rebounded, winning his three of four bouts, with two coming via TKO. During that time, he faced former WEC®/UFC®/Strikeforce® fighter Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at Shark Fights 13, “The Assassin” blasted his foe for a TKO win in the 2nd round. At “MMA Fight Pit: Genesis,” “The Assassin” will look to make it four straight wins. Beyond the cage, Alexander is a devoted family man, raising his six children as a single parent.

At “Genesis,” Alexander will face a fellow UFC® vet in “Razor” Razak Al-Hassan (11-3). A submission specialist, Al-Hassan started off his MMA career with seven straight wins, with five coming via submission. His reputation as a tapout authority was cemented, and the UFC® came calling. In “Razor’s” first bout with the promotion, he locked horns with Steve Cantwell at “UFC®: Fight For The Troops” in North Carolina. Cantwell caught the Roufusport fighter in an armbar late in the 1st round, but the tough Ghanaian competitor refused to tap out, despite the fact that his arm dislocated at the elbow. After recovering from the injury, Al-Hassan next faced Kyle Kingsbury at UFC® 104. A back-and-forth battle ensued. In the end, Kingsbury had his hand raised in a somewhat controversial decision loss for “Razor.” Though Al-Hassan had suffered losses in both his fights with the UFC®, and was released as a result, the young fighter had proved his could compete with top fighters. After he left the promotion, “Razor” went on a tear, knocking out or submitting four straight opponents, including another UFC® veteran Sherman Pendergarst. In his latest fight, Al-Hassan lost a hotly-contested and controversial decision to Dwayne Lewis at a Maximum Fighting Championships event. Now looking to rebound, “Razor” will face arguably the toughest test of his career in Houston “The Assassin” Alexander at “MMA Fight Pit: Genesis.”

REES AND MATHEWS KICK-OFF GREAT BRITISH BOXING NIGHT IN OCTOBER

Welshman defends European title before Barker faces Martinez in America

Gavin Rees will defend his European Lightweight title against Derry Mathews at the Newport Centre in South Wales on Saturday 1 October.

The duo were set to meet in July but a hand injury forced Rees to withdraw from the contest. Mathews gets his shot at the title four months later though, having stopped fellow Liverpudlian Steve Jennings in the sixth round of their fight on Saturday (July 30). Tickets for Rees vs. Mathews will go on sale on Thursday 4 August from Matchroom Sport on 01277 359900, with tickets priced from £30.

Rees claimed the vacant European strap in title in June with a points win over Irishman Andy Murray, and the Newbridge ace is aiming to defend his title against Mathews before landing a World title shot as he bids to become a two-weight World Champion having held the WBA Light Welterweight title in 2007.

Rees v Mathews begins a massive night for British boxing as unbeaten Darren Barker takes on Sergio Martinez in Atlantic City, USA.

“Gavin’s European title defence is the perfect start for such a huge night of action,” said Eddie Hearn, who promotes both Rees and Barker. “Gavin is on the hunt for a World title shot and Derry will be a real test after coming of a series of impressive wins. He has promised to bring a great travelling support from Liverpool and he won’t want to leave them disappointed so fans can expect a real battle in Newport.”
