Heun (8-3), who fights out of Hollywood, will face former world champion KJ Noons (8-2) of San Diego, Calif., in an excellent lightweight (155 pounds) match.

Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells steps back into the ring on July 28th

Female boxing star Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells steps back into the ring on July 28th at New York’s BB Kings Blues Club & Grill in Times Square.
Mcleod-Wells returns to the location of her last bout where she dominated the undefeated Mexican fighter Laura Gomez on the 31st of March.
The July 28th show will be promoted by Lou Dibella’s Dibella Entertainment and will feature some of New York’s most promising up and coming fighters.
Mcleod Wells is a 2x Amateur World Champion and 4x NY Golden Glove winner who is currently 3-1 as a professional. She hopes that this bout will showcase her talents and attract more fans to female boxing.
A former model and actress, Keisher “Fire” Mcleod-Wells doesn’t fit the stereotype of a female boxer and is determined to prove that she can transform her amateur success into professional accomplishments.
Mcleod-Wells and her team have had a hard time trying to find suitable opponents in the US and have had to fight 3 of her 4 bouts against Latin American fighters, 2 of those bouts occurring in Panama.
Mcleod-Wells’ opponent for this bout is still to be determined but she is preparing for a tough bout whoever is in the other corner come fight night.
“Fire” as she is better known to her large array of fans is happy to be fighting in her hometown again and is looking forward to putting on a real show, July 28th at BB Kings.

CES presents “Pride & Power” at Mohegan Sun Arena
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (June 14, 2010) – After sparring with world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko for three weeks in Austria, Hartford heavyweight prospect Tony “TNT” Grano returned home for a week before shuffling off to Buffalo for training camp to prepare for his Saturday night, June 26 headlining fight on the “Pride & Power” boxing card, presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports, Inc. (CES), in the 10-round main event at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
The WBF All-Americas heavyweight champion, Grano (17-1-1, 13 KOs), faces former U.S. amateur standout, Nicolai “Stone Man” Firtha (17-7-1, 7 KOs), for the vacant NABO-US heavyweight title.
Grano has enlisted the services of Juan DeLeon, who trained “Baby” Joe Mesi, as his co-head trainer along with Derrick Whitley. In Buffalo, Tony trains with DeLeon and when he’s back home, Grano’s handled by Whitley; the two have been together since Tony’s amateur days.
“I had a great opportunity to spar with Vitali for his fight against (Albert) Sosnowski,” Grano explained. “He stopped Sosnowski in the 10th. I had a big fight coming up, too. Derrick couldn’t get away and I was over there working with Juan, who has joined our team, and it was a great experience training together. I’m with him now at training camp in Buffalo and he’s really working me hard. I’m running on the track at 7 a.m., working three days a week on strength and conditioning, and sparring three or four different guys who are 6-6, 6-5 and weight around 250 pounds like my opponent.
“It is tough finding a good trainer who can help you get to the next level. I’m not making the kind of money where I can hire a trainer to go away with me to training camp for weeks at a time. They have other jobs and families. I knew Juan from when I sparred with Joe Mesi in Puerto Rico. We worked well together then and now things couldn’t be better. I have two head trainers working together with me for this fight. Firtha is big and he can box. He’s going to come right in and try to bully me around. I need to stick and move, use my jab, go to the body, and work the angles. It could possibly be an early night but I’ll be prepared to go 10 rounds.”
The Ring magazine recently named Grano’s sensational victory by fourth-round knockout last September on Showtime against previously undefeated Travis Kaufman (18-0) as its 2009 Heavyweight Fight of the Year. “It was great to see Ring recognize me and the fight,” Grano added. “It was a non-stop action fight. It was up against a lot of other good heavyweight fights last year and to get that recognition was great.”
Mike “Machine Gun” Oliver (23-2, 8 KOs), the reigning New England and EBA super bantamweight champion, continues his journey back to the top of the division, taking on former multiple title-holder Mauricio “Indio Boy” Pastrana (35-13-2, 23 KOs) in the 8-round co-feature. Oliver, another Hartford fighter, is rated No. 4 by the USBA. Pastrana has been world champion of the IBF, WBA, IBO, and IBA.
Long Island light heavyweight Joe “The Irish Bomber” Smith Jr. (4-0, 4 KOs), a 2008 New York Gold Gloves Champion, goes for his fifth first-round knockout against upset-minded Mazur Ali (6-6, 3 KOs).

AARON PRYOR JR. SCORES SIXTH ROUND STOPPAGE OVER WILLIS LOCKETT TO HIGHLIGHT AN EXCITING AFTERNOON OF BOXING

Upsets and Knockouts dominate a special four bout card at the Hyatt Regency on the Philadelphia Waterfront

PHILADELPHIA (June 13, 2010)—On Sunday it was a special afternoon of boxing as Aaron Pryor Jr. highlighted a four bout card with a sixth round stoppage over gritty Willis Lockett at the Hyatt Regency on the Philadelphia Waterfront.
The show was promoted by Joey Eye Boxing in association with Gulfstream Sports and Entertainment.
Pryor Jr. of Cincinnati used his six inch height advantage to keep Lockett at range but Lockett was able to get through with some winging shots over the first three rounds. Pryor Jr. got things rolling in round four as he began to find the range with his right hand startled Lockett on several occasions.
Lockett started to hold and was deducted a point for that continued infraction by referee Benjy Esteves in round six as he began to eat more hard shots.
The accumulation of punches had taken their toll on Lockett and his corner agreed as they stopped the bout before the seventh round had started.
In a entertaining brawl, Julio Cesar Matthews escaped with a razor thin unanimous decision over tough Philadelphia banger, Garrett Wilson in a six round Cruiserweight bout.
Matthews controlled the action over the first part of the fight as he bloodied the nose and mouth of Wilson. Wilson started to come on like gangbusters and if the fight was scheduled for more rounds, there is no telling what the outcome would have been as Matthews with stood a late onslaught of Wilson.
Andreas Gustaffson of Sweden took out Pedro Martinez in round two of a scheduled six round Heavyweight bout. Gustafsson dropped Martinez from a good looking counter left. Later in the round, Gustafsson landed a nice four punch combination that was capped off by a right hand that sent Martinez to the canvas and the fight was called off at 1:05 of round two.
In the opening bout, Kamarah Pasley scored an upset as he scored a first round knockdown en route to a four round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Patrick Farrell in a cruiserweight bout.
Pasley dropped Farrell in round one from a counter left. Farrell started pressing the action in round’s two and three but Pasley had a solid round four as he continuously created space and was efficient with some solid left uppercuts.

On June 11, 2010 World Championship Fighting knocked it out of the park with their WCF 10 event, live from the Shriner’s Auditorium in Wilmington, MA.
The card was stacked with nine action packed fights, and fans left the event raving about how it was the most exciting event World Championship Fighting has ever had. Whether it was the four minute frenzy Bustar Crandall and Chris Madden put forth, the three round war between Joel Ly and Billy Walsh, or the stunning knockout provided by rising prospect Noah Weisman, this event had something for everyone.

Matt ‘FireFighter’ Jack Looks To Extinguish Marco Stephenson On June 19th

Newmarket, Suffolk’s boxing fireman Matt Jack is back in action this Saturday, against Luton’s Marco Stephenson, at the Steve Goodwin promoted “Summer Fight Night Explosion” at the famous York Hall In Bethnal Green London.
Jack is looking to build on his heroic, against the odds, win over ‘Dangerous’ Danny Goode (12-3-0) three weeks ago in Portsmouth. The first two rounds were fairly even, as was the third, until the defining moment when Jack let rip with a cracking right hand that sent Goode crashing to the canvas. At the end of four scintillating close rounds referee, Jeff Hinds, declared Jack the winner by just a single point.
Heroic actions seems to be Matt Jack’s specialty. Prior to becoming a firefighter, at Cambridge Airport, Jack spent six years in the Royal Marines as a landing craft pilot. During this time Jack underwent active duty in Afghanistan (2002), Iraq (2003 & 2006) as well as taking part in the 2006 evacuation of Beirut.
Following a training session with Alec Wilkin, at the Ultrachem TKO Gym in Canning Town, London, Jack took a little time to speak about his upcoming fight with Marco Stephenson, “Training’s been going well. It’s only been four weeks since my last fight so my fitness is already there. So it’s just keeping it there and peaking at the right time.
I haven’t seen Marco box as a pro yet, but I did see him fight in the under twenty ABA finals, I was in the Navy team at the ABA finals and watched him box in the finals. He was a good boxer then.
The fight’s at Light Heavyweight, normally I fight at Super Middleweight, so I’m going to be giving away a little weight. He’ll be bigger than me, but I still think I’ll be stronger than him.
Touch wood, I’m looking for the win to come in my direction, but I’ll have to change my usual fight style and stand off a bit at times though, as he’s taller than me. He’s got more range than me. So I’m going to have to go to him at times. I think that’ll make for a good exciting fight.”
