ENNIS WINS THRILLER TO CAPTURE USBA JR. MIDDLE TITLE IN PHILLY

Classic battle highlights Power Productions 10th anniversary show at The Legendary Blue Horizon
PHILADELPHIA (OCTOBER 19, 2009)—Derek “Pooh” Ennis captured the USBA Jr. Middleweight title with a thrilling twelve round unanimous decision over Eromosele Albert this past Friday night at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
This memorable bout was the main event of a seven bout card that was part of Greg Robinson’s Power Productions 10th anniversary show.
Ennis of Philadelphia and Albert fought at close quarters for the full thirty-six minute fight and the battle became another Legendary Blue Horizon classic.
The two banged away at each other as Ennis used quick combinations that he divvied up between the body and head while Albert continued to press forward and gave as good as he took.
As the fight ended, ringside media members were split on who should have received the decision but Ennis took it by scores of 116-112; 115-113 and 115-113.
With the win, Ennis wins the USBA belt and will be ranked in the prestigious IBF. Ennis must make one defense and then will be at the top of the line to face IBF champ Cory Spinks.
The co-feature saw Victor Vasquez score a knockdown en-route to a six round unanimous decision over Tyric Robinson in a battle of Philadelphia Jr. Welterweights.
The undercard was not void of action as every fight was competitive as Mario Mina waged war with Tommie “Big Poppa” Speller that saw Mina score a unanimous decision in the four round see-saw Super Middleweight bout.
Coy Evans, Derrick Webster, Rachel Clark and John Mecurio also scored victories in crowd thrilling fashion.

After almost ten years in promoting Mixed Martial Arts events in Germany Shihan Peter “Yamatodamashii” Angerer of the German Top Team decided to establish a free and well structured MMA League under the label “German Vale Tudo” (www.germanvaletudo.org). Under safe rules for the competitors the focus of the label is on the amateurs, but on professional matches for top competitors from around the world as well. By creating a series of events for fighters from all styles and organizations German Vale Tudo welcomes all interested Martial Artists to compete in our events to determine who is the best MMA fighter in each of the divisions.
The label hosts six events of the “Contender” series for amateur fighters in every season, who have no or less experience in MMA. With each of this six events German Vale Tudo will also host one or two professional fights (B-Class) at the events. Additionally there will be a Rookie Tournament in selected weight divisions on each Contender show to determine the German Amateur Champion in all weight classes. The winner of these Rookie Tournaments will receive the professional status to fight in future B-Class matches. The fighters can so qualify for the Year End Show “German Vale Tudo Open”, which will be held every December and feature top notch athletes of the international circuit.
The “German Vale Tudo Challenge” is held as an international tournament for athletes and teams from around the world. Under the safe amateur rules of the C Class the competitors can gain experience in MMA in a sportive and challenging environment. Many of todays professional stars in MMA here in Germany have had their first amateur fights on our events, e.g. M1 veteran Gregor Herb, Shooto veteran Pascal Krauss, Featherweight Standout Alan Omer, BJJ Blackbelt Franco de Leonardis and many many others.

Des Moines, Iowa: Takedown Wrestling Radio and its TV/Internet partner TDR TV have united in effort with the National Collegiate Wrestling Association in promoting the sport of wrestling. Today the NCWA has mounted and will present on a regular basis TDR TV news on its home page at NCWA.net
“The NCWA is an important addition to our affiliate program,” said Scott Casber, Founder and Host of TDR TV. “The NCWA and its 150 plus member collegiate teams have experienced extended and continued growth over the last 13 years and we’re very pleased to be a part of their success.”
The NCWA and it 150 member programs are a strategic component to the rebuilding of America’s collegiate wrestling infrastructure. The NCWA operates in many areas and states where there are little or no NCAA D1, D2 or D3 programs. They play an important role in redeveloping our wrestling community. The NCWA projects its growth to the year 2015 when they expect member participation to be in excess of 300 programs.
We see TDR TV as an integral part of communication within the wrestling community,” said NCWA Executive Director Jim Giunta, and are looking forward to working with Scott Casber and his team to get the word out about the NCWA and it’s member institutions. YONKERS, N.Y. (October 16, 2009) – No trick or treatin’, ghosts, ghouls or vampires — just a night of exciting, competitive pro boxing on tap Halloween Eve (Oct. 30) at the Yonkers Armory.
“Halloween Havoc,” featuring some of New York’s most promising prospects, is being presented by O’Shea Brothers Boxing Promotions.
“We’re bringing old-school boxing back to the fans,” promoter Brian O’Shea said. “We’re showcasing a lot of young, talented fighters on this card. We have real fighters, not guys fighting easy, hand-picked opponents.”
Puerto Rican heavyweight Alexis Mejias (10-1, 4 KOs), fighting out of Paterson, New Jersey, headlines against Josh Harris (3-3-1, 2 KOs) in the 6/8 round main event.
In the 6-round co-feature, Bronx featherweights, “Crazy” Eddie Irizarry (7-1, 2 KOs) and Joey Arroyo (2-1, 0 KOs) throw-down for neighborhood bragging rights.
Unbeaten African welterweight Issouf Kinda (5-0, 3 KOs) fights an opponent to be determined in a 6-rounder, while two 1-0 bantamweights with a common past, Raul Lopez (1-0, 1 KO) and Jose “Chilli” Rivera (1-0, 0 KOs), rekindle their rivalry in a 6-round match.
Also on the undercard in 4-round bouts is super middleweight Shqiprim “ White Tiger” Muriqi (1-0, 0 KOs) vs. Fasika Bezabeth, light middleweight Lambros “Lionheart” Karaolides (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. TBA, pro debuting heavyweight Adam Kownacki vs. TBA, pro debuting lightweights Michael Brooks and Jamel Brown, super featherweight Angel “Terror” Torres (1-3-2, 1 KO) vs. Takeshi Sato in his pro debut. All fights and fighters are subject to change.
“It’s going to be a great night of boxing,” O’Shea noted. “We have two 1-0 kids, Lopez and Rivera, fighting each other again. They fought three times in the New York Golden Gloves with Lopez winning twice. Kinda’s a solid prospect, ‘Crazy’ Eddie’s only loss in eight pro fights was a close decision, and Kownacki is a 2-time New York Golden Gloves champion.”
