MIKKEL KESSLER BEGINS TRAINING AND OTHER EUROPEAN BOXING NOTES

Posted on | August 22, 2007 | No Comments

WBA and WBC supermiddle champ Mikkel Kessler began the training today at the CIK Gym in Copenhagen with six rounds of sparring with stablemate Lolenga Mock. Kessler will now do the heavy physical preparations in his new home in Monaco and then return to Copenhagen for sparring September 17.

Herbie Hide, down to cruiser and based in Hamburg with Arena Box Promotion, is the official challenger for EU champ Giacobbe Fragomeni.

Cruisers Dirk Mandelarz and Max Gusset clash for the GBC bauble August 25 in Aachen on a Pound4Pound Promotion.

The most beat up man at ringside in Berlin Saturday night at the Abraham vs Gevor show was not any of fighters but Belgian promoter Alain Vanackere, who explained it was the result of a car accident a few weeks earlier. Alain´s EuroBoxe Promotion stage their first show of the season in Soumagne with supermiddle Michel Henrotin and heavies Geoffrey Batello and Richel Hersisia on the bill. In regards of heavyweight Oleg Platov, who is managed by Vanackere, he is in the line to fight for the vacant EE-EU title against Russian Denis Bakhtov.

WBA, WBC and GBU female bantam champ Anita Christensen will defend the titles against Gabriela Garino September 14 in Horsens. Female jr welter Vinni Skovgaard is also on for the bill that is headlined by Johny Jensen vs Louis Del Valle in a WBA I/C titlefight at cruiser.

Bantams Karim Quibir and Eugen Sorin Tanasie clash for the vacant EU title September 28 in Valencia, Spain

Namibian lightweight Paulus Moses impressed viewers all over Europe last night when he in Donetsk stopped Ukrainian Andrei Kudriaytsev in the ninth round of a WBA I/C titlefight. Moses was on top in most of the rounds but the strong Kudriaytsev kept trying and had a few good rounds. Moses got in full control in the eighth and stepped up the pace in the ninth scoring three knockdowns and it was stopped.

EBU middle champ Sebastian Sylvester is likely to make a voluntary defence of the title October 27 possibly against Italian Simone Rotolo. It´s also rumored that a IBF eliminator at heavyweight between Chris Byrd and Alexander Povetkin will end up on this show. Chris Meyer, CEO for Sauerland Event, confirms they have a TV date Oct 27 but that nothing else is set, he does confirm negotiations with the Byrd camp though.

WBA, WIBF and GBU female supermiddle Natascha Ragosina is looking to add the WIBA title to her collection September 8 in Berlin when she square off against Kenyan Conjestina Achieng. There´s another female titlefight on this SES promotion as Oksana Vasilyeva and Fatuma Zarika clash for the vacant WIBF crown. Also on the bill is cruiser Serdar Sahin and Marco Schulze, who is moving up to middleweight.

Spotlight Boxing promote in Cologne October 26 with hardpunching Argentinian jr welter prospect Marcos Maidana on the bill.

Wiking Box Team promotes a show at the Universal Hall in Berlin September 2. Headlining the bill are lightheavies Denis Simcic and Kavin Gebhart in a fight for the Int´l German title. Comebacking heavy Aleksander Jakob square off against Latvian Edgar Kalnars. At lightweight Johnny Ibramov, from Uzbekistan but now with Wking, face decent Berliner Muzaffer Tosun. Cubans Yuriorkis Gamboa and Yan Barthelemy are on for the show but it is noteworthy that both heavies Odlanier Solis and Pedro Carrion are off the bill.

The Swedish Pro Boxing Commission suprisingly withdrew its application to the Martial Arts Delegation for the planned Aldo Colliander vs Robert Daniels fight September 15 in Karlstad to be staged over six three minute rounds. As to why the commission did what they did is an open question. Previously only fights over 4×3 or 6×2 with max distance 12 minutes have been allowed in Sweden. A 6×3 fight would – it was hoped – have opened the doors for “real” proboxing. MAD was quite critical towards the commission for the way they handled the show in Gothenburg March 31 and that may have played a part.

Italians Daniele Petrucci and Antonio Lauri are co-challengers for the vacant EU welterweight title.

ENDURANCE SPORTSWEAR AND KUBED FIGHT GEAR FORMS APPAREL SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH TAKEDOWN WRESTLING RADIO

Des Moines, IA- August 21, 2007 – Up and coming apparel company, Endurance Sportswear and Kubed Fight Gear announced an exclusive agreement with TakeDown Radio (TDR) today. Under the agreement, the manufacturer of shirts and hats becomes the sole apparel vendor represented on-air and as part of live broadcast promotions.

Formed in 2005, Endurance and Kubed primarily focused on the MMA (mixed martial arts) market and have been expanding their interest to other combat and extreme sports recently. “Nowhere is the requirement for endurance more important than with wrestling” commented company founder Kelvin Thompson. “We were originally drawn to TDR based on their increasing coverage of MMA. Once we began learning about wrestling, we found an amazingly committed and supportive new world was opening to us” Thompson added.

Kubed, an acronym for “knuckle up, break em’ down” was created by Thompson to communicate the essence of combat sports. All products sold by the company were designed by Thompson and his four member team. Consumers purchase goods from the company’s web site and at sporting events throughout the country. In a separate deal, Endurance and Kubed reached a new agreement with TDR’s sister company, Midwest Sports Entertainment Group, L.L.C., a producer of live events.

Part of the Endurance/Kubed philosophy from the beginning was giving back to the communities they serve. Ten percent of all proceeds go to charitable organizations, including homeless shelters. Current plans are underway to create a line of camouflage apparel where 100% of proceeds will go to US Armed Forces stationed in the Middle East.

“This is not just another sponsorship deal for a radio program. This is the continued melding of the combat sports worlds and the addition of a valuable citizen to the wrestling community” offered Scott Casber, TDR’s founder. “There have been a numerous synergistic agreements recently that served to unite. Our new relationship with Endurance/Kubed clearly continues that trend.” Casber added.

KEVIN MCBRIDE BOLSTERED BY NEW MANAGEMENT

McBride’s Career Resurrected by New Manager Quinn

BOSTON (August 21, 2007) – For now, at least, Irish heavyweight champion Kevin “The Clones Colossus” McBride is best known as the fighter who knocked “Iron” Mike Tyson into retirement. McBride, however, can change his legacy if he defeats Andrew Golota on October 6, and then eventually attains his nearly lifelong dream of becoming the first Irish-born heavyweight champion of the world.

McBride (34-5-1, 29 KOs), now 34 and living in Boston, believed he’d get his world title shot after stopping 20-1 favorite Tyson in the sixth round of their June 11, 2005 fight. The 6-6, 280-pound Irishman thought he had fights lined-up against then world heavyweight champions John Ruiz and Lamon Brewster, but promotional problems and a series of questionable business decisions by his advisors cost McBride a chance to cash-in on the worldwide fame he had gained after beating Tyson.

Ten months after the Tyson fight, the now Don King-promoted McBride defeated Byron Polley and then, tapped out and desperate to get back in the ring, he took an ill advised fight against Mike Mollo, who knocked out McBride on national television in the second round, and Kevin’s once promising career suddenly was on the ropes.

“I beat my idol, Tyson, and by beating a name fighter like him, it got me in the picture,” McBride said. “I was supposed to get title fights but nothing materialized. I won my first fight (after the Tyson fight) but didn’t look good and then lost my last fight which I never really should have taken. Now, I have a new team and my manager, Jerry Quinn, is pulling no punches to get me my world title shot. I’m back with the strength-and-conditioning coach I had when I fought Tyson, Radovan Serbula. Jerry also hired a coach in the Boston area to work with me (Arsen Sarkisov), and then he brought in a world-class trainer to handle me, Buddy McGirt. I’m delighted with our whole new team that Jerry has put together.

“I have the ability to be world champion. I’m going to beat Golota and redeem myself. It will get me back in the picture for a world title fight. I’m not looking past Golota. I’m going in against him with one thing in mind – win at all cost. October 6th is going to open the door or shut it. One way or the other it’s going to be exciting. I started boxing at nine

and that’s when I first dreamed of becoming the first Irish-born heavyweight champion
of the world. Now, thanks to Jerry, I have another chance to fulfill my dream.”

Quinn, a well known national philanthropist and successful businessman, who owns the Kells of Boston restaurant/bar, has been a good friend and sponsor of McBride’s for the past six years. Born and raised in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland, Jerry immigrated to the United States in 1972.

After his devastating loss to Mollo, McBride was left for dead, boxing wise, but Quinn put his money where his mouth is, becoming Kevin’s manager and undisputed leader of the New Team McBride.

“I always saw great potential in Kevin and believed he would be world champion after he defeated Tyson,” Quinn explained. “I still do. I made a proposal to him, a package that included a weekly salary, car, paying for his training, etc. But I wanted total control because it’s the only wait it could work. I knew that he wasn’t getting the proper training and guidance after the Tyson fight. I had a vision. I wanted to change his whole team, but Kevin wouldn’t accept it at the time, and he shot me down. He was committed to his old team and persuaded by them.

“Three weeks after his last fight, I made a similar presentation to Kevin, and he accepted. I make all of the business decisions now, working with my associate, Bob O’Guin. I sent Kevin back to Radovan and he works out with him six days a week. I hired a Russian trainer, Arsen Sarkisov, whose family has been in boxing for years. Kevin trains with him five nights a week in the Boston area. Back in April, I contacted Buddy McGirt and we went to his gym in Vero Beach (FL) for a week. Buddy was a great champion and he’s one of the best trainers in boxing today. There was immediate chemistry between Kevin and Buddy. He agreed to train Kevin, who heads back to Vero Beach around September 1 for a month of training camp. My job is to give Kevin the tools to become world champion; his is to train hard and fight. I still believe that he will be the heavyweight champion of the world.”

McBride represented Ireland in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona as the youngest super heavyweight ever. He was eliminated in what was only his sixth match and he then turned pro. Kevin fought a six-round draw in his pro debut against Gary Charlton in London, and then won his next 19 fights. In 1999, he relocated in Boston and his roller coaster like career has taken him to the heights of slaying Tyson to the depths of despair in his last bout.

With a new team in his corner, McBride continues his journey to become the first Irish-born heavyweight champion of the world. To get there, though, “The Clones Colossus” needs to get past Golota on Oct. 6 in a must win situation at the famed Madison Square Garden.

The green dream continues for Kevin McBride, thanks in large part to his new manager, Jerry Quinn. Winning the world title may be longshot for the likeable McBride but, then again, how many people honestly thought he’d beat Tyson?

THE “other main event” FOR UFC 74

BY: -Jack J. Bratcher

[mpinpage]

Folks, this Saturday night is marking one of the biggest events in UFC history with UFC 74 in Anaheim, California. The main event has the Heavyweight Title on the line with Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga, but in actuality there is another bout just as exciting and really a co-main event. I’m talking about the highly anticipated welterweight match between George St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck.

George St. Pierre, who holds a record of 13 wins and 2 losses, will be going up against Ultimate Fighter alumni Josh Koscheck, who has a record of 9 wins with only 1 loss. Many consider these two fighters to be the two best athletes in the UFC. George St. Pierre’s only losses were to Matt Hughes in 2004 and to the man who beat Matt Hughes for the Welterweight Title, Matt Serra.

Even though George St. Pierre lost to Matt Hughes back in 2004, he avenged that loss by defeating Matt Hughes in November 2006 for the Welterweight Title. Unfortunately for St. Pierre, he lost the Welterweight Title in April of this year against the current Welterweight Champion, Matt Serra. This will be St. Pierre’s first fight since his loss to Serra.

George St. Pierre looked amazing against Matt Hughes when he defeated Hughes for the title. George was striking from all angles, bobbing and weaving, moving in and out with speed and just dominated Matt Hughes like no one had ever done. St. Pierre looked like a machine or a video game character, moving with finesse and striking with pin-point accuracy, and it was incredible to watch. But, then in his first title defense against Matt Serra, he totally looked off his game. He did not look like the same person. Something was clearly wrong, and even though he was the heavy favorite and few people gave Serra a prayer in Hell, Serra spanked George St. Pierre decisively and took away St. Pierre’s most coveted possession, allowing him to only bask in his glory as Welterweight Champ less than 6 months. And just as quickly as St. Pierre had won that title, it was taken away.

Needless to say, this fight against Josh Koscheck is extremely important for George St. Pierre. It is his chance to prove that his title win was not the fluke, but his losing it was. No one can lose that much talent that fast. Something was off with St. Pierre when he fought Matt Serra and hopefully he and his training camp have fixed whatever it was that got off balance. For George St. Pierre to lose to Josh Koscheck would be devastating–extremely devastating–and if someone had just watched George beat Matt Hughes for the Welterweight Title last year and you asked that person right after seeing George’s performance in that fight, if Josh Koscheck could beat George St. Pierre, ninety-nine percent of the people without bi-focals would say there is no way in the world Josh Koscheck could beat George St. Pierre.

Actually after watching St. Pierre’s performance in that fight, I remember distinctively thinking…”I don’t see how anyone is going to be able to beat this guy.” But then you fast-forward five months to his next match, his first title defense, against Matt Serra and he didn’t even look like the same person. So the big question for Saturday night is….which George St. Pierre is going to show up to fight Josh Koscheck?

Josh Koscheck is coming off the biggest win of his career by defeating Diego Sanchez. Diego Sanchez was an Ultimate Fighter winner. He was undefeated. And he was the UFC’s golden boy. Diego Sanchez had looked unstoppable until he faced Josh Koscheck and was defeated by unanimous decision. Many consider Koscheck to be the best wrestler in the UFC with the credentials to back it up.

Everyone knows what a good wrestler Matt Hughes is. Koscheck is on a different level. He’s a top-of-the-food-chain collegiate wrestling champion. Now add to that, an athlete who is in phenomenal condition who has proven that he is only gettting better and better in all aspects of mixed-martial arts. With each new fight, we see Koscheck noticeably improving his striking. One of the most intriguing things about MMA is each person’s opportunity to grow in the sport. The Koscheck who was on the Ultimate Fighter program was almost exclusively a wrestler, showing little in the way of punches and kicks. But Kosheck is obviously determined to be a true contender and he knows he cannot rely just on wrestling. So we have seen with each new fight his striking becoming much more of a factor.

If he can take his strike game to the level of his wrestling game, Josh Koscheck will be a Titlle Holder. There’s no doubt about that. It would be inevitable. And from what we’ve seen so far, he’s well on his way. He looked great against Sanchez; the wrestler outboxing the striker…..something that couldn’t have happened a year or even six months earlier. That’s just how fast Josh Koscheck is improving. Never underestimate a man who goes to a place everyday where he has hired (spent his own money) a person to teach him how to become the very best boxer and kickboxer he can be. Never underestimate a man who had the determination and athletic ability and heart to become a world-class collegiate wrestling champion, take that same discipline and determination to MMA, and apply it to becoming the best stiker he can be.

One of the things I love most about the sport of Mixed-Martial Arts is the fact that it is ever evolving and each person in the sport can evolve with it. Look at a football player; he can learn to run faster, tackle harder, catch better and memorize plays, but in truth there’s just not a whole lot of new skills and techniques and personal evolution an individual can go through as a football player. And it’s the same thing for alot of sports. But there are some sports that can really push a person’s growth in extreme ways. Maybe that’s why we call some of them Extreme Sports. MMA is one of these. There’s always room for improvement in MMA. It is really the ultimate in terms of competition.

In UFC 74 we are going to witness some Extreme Competition. We will get to see Josh Koscheck; a man who has become the embodiment of evolution. It’s an awesome thing when you can visibly notice and recognize when a person has made drastic improvements to their fight game. And we will see Josh Koscheck get in the octagon with a man who has a lot to prove. You can also never underestimate a man who is fighting for his pride; a man who just won the most important achievement of his life and attained the very pinnacle and height of his career……but then had it stripped away from him like he never deserved it in the first place. What will a man do in a situation like that? How will he fight? Will he crumble before the pressure and give in to the demons that say he can never win that title again? Or will George St. Pierre dig deep within and display the finesse and aggressiveness that destroyed Matt Hughes? This is going to be a war. And I will be on the edge of my seat, or more likely standing, cheering as these guys lay it all on the line Saturday Night.

XYIENCE TRYING TO RAILROAD FIGHT NEWS UNLIMITED WITH SLANDER

XYIENCE RESPONSE TO FNU REACHES NEW LOW

By: Rich Bergeron

It is so often a grim reality in our society that those with money and power can get away with whatever they want. It has become so pervasive that many people tend to just stand by and get run over, never even letting out a peep about how unfair they’re being treated. It’s understandable as much as it’s disturbing, because even the loudest cries tend to fall on deaf ears.

Yet, what so many of us in this day and age don’t realize is there is tremendous power in the truth. It’s not always easy to expose that truth, and people don’t always believe it when they hear it, but in the long run truth always trumps the lies.

Those at the highest positions within Xyience, Inc. had a chance to defend the company from my investigative reporting on countless occasions. Yet, instead of presenting their side of the story and explaining their perspective professionally they chose to spout more lies and mount an obvious, calculated smear campaign against me. Confronted with the stark and unavoidable truth, they spat back at me like a bunch of ignorant children with a non-stop flow of baseless insults. While I always put my name on everything I produced on these pages, they hid behind false names and fabricated profiles to jab at me with nothing but total crap.

It’s easy to see their weak, pathetic attempts to badmouth me in my own comment section. They’ll likely launch more of the same on this story. They have even found folks with the same name to slander. Yet, even in their feeble attempts to attack me they reveal a complete and utter lack of evidence. They actually make themselves look more guilty because they are unable to find a shred of real, documented evidence with which to question my character. They stupidly suppose that because I have worked as a photographer and house painter I must be a dishonest person. They point to my personal MySpace profile as if there’s damning evidence there of some secret plot to destroy them.

I have always publicly stated I do not want Xyience as a whole to suffer because of the few people connected to this company who have chosen to use it as their own corrupt get rich quick scheme. Working with people on the inside and relying on evidence given to me by people in a position to know what is really going on behind the scenes, I have narrowed down the names of those within the inside circle. I know exactly who is behind the deepest, most troubling deception and fraudulent activity at the company, and I can prove it.

I refuse to stoop to the level of those attempting to slander me and attack me. I don’t have time to be petty. It is time for action and time to clear up this mess so the sport of MMA can move on without this baggage attached to it. Xyience has been good to a lot of fighters and provided a lot of income to help some of the best professional fighters prosper. If they ever hope to reclaim a good reputation, the people ruining it for everybody need to be removed from the company.

It is time for the fans of MMA to unite in solidarity and stand up for the sport. It’s time to be counted and tell the powers that be that you won’t let an innocent man get run over just for doing his job. It is time to put the spotlight on the guilty parties here.

I am just one man, and I can’t do it alone. So, I am publicly asking for help here. I am being bombarded with legal fees that are detracting from the smooth operation of my site. This site has always been and always will be in place to give something to the fight fans they’ve never had. It is an independent, invigorating, and fresh take on the fighting sports. In this whole series we have proven how much we love this sport. We are willing to fight the biggest dogs infected with the worst case of Rabies if it means winning will help keep MMA clean.

I have avoided asking for any assistance up to this point and have actually spent a great deal of my own money already on the investigative process alone. However, I have to admit now that what I’m trying to do is going to take much more of a collective effort. I have set up a legal defense fund that will help me fight this case and any future case that arises to try and silence my reporting. I have decided not to seek any relief of any kind in this suit, because I never did any of this to make money. It is more important to me to help provide documented evidence to this court of law that might someday inspire a formal federal investigation that is long overdue.

If anyone can help out, please click on the link below. Any donation will be used to clean up this sport and help make sure Fight News Unlimited will be able to continue to provide you great news without having to worry about being shut down for exposing the truth. Also, if anyone knows of any legal channels I can pursue or can assist with my defense in any way, I could definitely use a hand with all of this. I am one man against a corporation here, and I need all the help I can get. Anything our loyal fans can spare would be much appreciated.

Please take the time to review all the information available on-line in our XYIENCE SERIES so you can see exactly what I have compiled in the way of solid evidence and what Xyience has been relentlessly trying to hide by repeatedly slandering me.

Wish me luck as I go forward with this fight, and please spread the word. The future of Fight News Unlimited depends on getting this whole mess cleaned up, and the sport of Mixed Martial Arts will be better off if sponsors like Xyience can clean themselves up and start acting responsibly. You can help inspire that. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

TAKEDOWN WRESTLING RADIO FEATURED IN SUNDAY NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE REGARDING DEFENSE SOAP

Des Moines, IA- August 20, 2007 – The Sunday, August 19th “Your Money” section of the New York Times reported on “A Soap That Goes to the Mat”, regarding TakeDown Radio’s (TDR) newest sponsor, Defense Soap. The line of anti-fungal personal hygiene products is made with all natural ingredients and is currently expanding distribution on a number of levels.

Created in 2005, Defense Soap products were originally distributed only to the amateur wrestling community, and on a regional basis. The brand is currently experiencing explosive growth as it expands to other sports and to new markets. Defense Soap entered into a one year initial sponsorship agreement with TakeDown Radio on August 1. “TakeDown Radio’s growth and evolution has been much like Defense Soap.” commented Guy Sako, the products creator. “Ten years ago they were a regional, wrestling program. Today, they’re providing significant coverage on MMA (mixed martial arts) and other combat sports. They grew from a regional program to one that’s now heard around the world due to the internet.” Sako added.

In addition to broadcasting paid commercials and on-air product endorsements, TDR assists Defense Soap’s promotional efforts. TDR placed the product with several key sports figures and includes Defense Soap as part of the numerous live remote broadcasts they provide from major sporting events each year. TDR was instrumental placing Defense Soap in relationships with top athletes, coaches, and teams and is developing a new campaign incorporating testimonials and personal endorsements.

“The first time we put the product directly into the hands of professional competitors, we knew we had found something very special. To have the New York Times provide reporting only one month later speaks volumes” stated Scott Casber, TDR’s founder and primary on-air talent. “Word of mouth is a great tool and has taken Defense Soap a long way in a short period of time. Now, they’re clearly operating at a new, higher level.” Casber concluded.

EUROPEAN BOXING NEWS 8/19/07

Posted on | August 19, 2007 | No Comments

August 18, Berlin, Germany:

IBF middle champ Arthur Abraham retained the title with a brutal eleventh round knockout over a very
brave challenger in Khoren Gevor. The end came at 2.41. Gevor, who had fought with a beyond belief heart
and determination was all of a sudden hurt by a left hook and staggered backwards, Abraham followed up,
missed with a big right hook but the short, powerful left hook that came behind it took out Gevor. The
challenger went down on his knees and fell over as American referee Pete Podgorski dispensed with the
count.

Gevor got up relatively quickly but looked badly dazed for minutes.

After ten it was scored 98-91, 97-93 and 97-95, all for Abraham.

Gevor was off to a good start outworking the champion. However, Abraham had much superior power and once he found the range he would nail Gevor almost at will, fighting in spurts with long spells off as he often
tends to do. Khoren, a southpaw, showed a good chin but most of all an enourmous will and kept coming back
no matter what.

On the undercard welter Michel Trabant and Giammario Grassellini fought to a technical draw after Trabant
was badly after an accidental clash of heads.

Cuban cruiser Yoan Pablo Hernandez knocked out Brazilian Daniel Bispo in the first to win the vacant
WBA Fedelatin title.

Supermiddle Mads Larsen clearly beat Australian Nader Hamdan after eight rounds. Hamdan was floored in the
third.

Cruiser Alexander Frenkel scored a bad knockout over American Shane Schwarz in the first and it took a long
time for Schwarz to get up on his feet.

World Sporting Promotion and Union Boxing Promotion join forces August 21 in Donetsk, Ukraine, for a very
interesting show. Unbeaten welter Vyacheslav Senchenko defends the EE-EU title against Serbian Zoran
Didanovic in one of the headliners. At supermiddle WBC Youth champ Stas Kashtanov is in against Namibian
Vikapita Meroro. Meroro´s compatriot Paulus Moses is in against localite Andrei Kudryatsev in a WBA I/C
title at lightweight. On the undercard cruiser Aleksander Gourov, former EBU champ, stays busy
against Belorussian Vitaly Shkraba. There is also a WBO I/C title defence by Stanislav Merdov at
featherweight and Vladimir Tarenko is in against Vladimir Tarenko in a EE-EU 140 lb titlefight. The
show goes out in Europe live in EuroSport and on delayed TV in Namibia.

Team Palle begins the new season September 14 in Horsens with Johny Jensen vs Louis Del Valle in a
fight for the vacant WBA I/C title. Del Valle was WBA champ at lightheavy in the late 90´s. In supporting
bouts Anita Christensen will defend her titles, WBA, WBC and GBU, at bantam against a yet to be named
opponent. Jr middle Reda Zam Zam will again face Carlos Donquiz, who knocked him out in the very first
round in March. Also on the bill are reportedly lightweight Martin Kristjansen, who is rumored to be
headlining a Team Palle show in October, cruiser Anders Hugger Nielsen, jr middle Thomas Povlsen and
perhaps female jr welter Vinni Skovgaard.

Both IBF champ Arthur Abraham and challenger Khoren Gevor scaled 72,5 kg / 159,75 lbs for tomorrow´s
all-Armenian showdown at the Max Schmeling Hall in Berlin. Norwegian jr light Andreas Evensen was pulled
off the show due to illness. Cuban cruiser Yoan Pablo Hernandez guns for his first title in the pros and
face Brazilian Daniel Bispo for the vacant WBA Fedelatin title in a scheduled ten-rounder.

Cuban defectors, heavyweight Odlanier Solis, and “catchweighters (they seem to gain weight with every
fight in “freedom”) Yuriorkis Gamboa and Yan Barthelemy will according to a spokesman for Arena Box
Promotion fight September 2 in Berlin, September 21 in Luebeck and October 19, again in Berlin. The by some
media announced fight for Gamboa in Miami August 24 might according to the spokesman happen but isn´t
certain.
